Bethesda didn't design this gun, it is from the film Blade Runner. The prop was made from a few different firearms. One of which was the Steyr Mannlicher Model SL .222 which has two triggers on its receiver. Not sure exactly why though.
Not even the directors of bladerunner knew what the second trigger did, they just thought it would look cool, thought they may use it, but never did lmao
the second trigger was for the rifle chamber located ontop of the gun. bit late of a response, but yea.
The Handgun ran the cylinder for its standard ammo, then the top 'bolt action' part was to chamber a rifle round, and be fired from the second trigger group.
Also, i might be blind, but wheres the customization options in your description?
Bethesda didnt make the 3D model originally, Obsidian did, who where the original makers of the Fallout franchise (or atleast had some of the devs in Obsidian as Black Isle studios went under). But the original source was Blade Runner. That Gun was a call back to the '.223 Pistol' that was in Fallout and Fallout 2, a very well balanced and fun handgun to use. It was very OP as well if you had a high enough skill in Small Guns and used VATS to shoot mutants or Enclave troops in the Eye or the Groin. In Fallout New Vegas (where the handgun reemerged) the handgun was more of a nod or cameo to the Classics. Still very useful early on, as unlike Fallout 1 and 2. FoNV had a level list and SOME enemy scaling.
I'm reading all these comments and thinking, of course it had two triggers, because Deckard's gun had two triggers in the film, are you kidding? Duh. And then it dawns on me that probably most of the people in these forums haven't even ever seen the original Blade Runner, and suddenly I'm feeling very very old...
You got to see it in the theater when it came out? I'll always be envious of you for that then. If that's the case, then yeah, you might have a few years on me. I was in 2nd grade of elementary school when it came out. Best sci-fi film ever made in my opinion.
I saw the original Blade Runner when it came out in 1982, and the voiceovers and the "happy" final scene really hurt the movie a lot. It was clear that some studio drones had inserted those after the movie had been made in an effort to make it more "marketable." The director's cuts which circulated in the 1990s in theaters, with those turd-stains removed, were truly amazing on the big screen.
my theory about the triggers is that its a kind of safety. Both triggers need to be pulled at the same time or the gun wont fire. The other theory is that the second trigger manually cycles the chamber, incase of a misfire or something.
It’s from the Blade Runner pistol, which was made from a cut-down bolt-action rifle. The rifle has two triggers, which are called Double Set Triggers. It’s like a double action revolver only with a second trigger instead of a hammer. Normally, you pull the front trigger to fire, and the trigger pull is very heavy, as a powerful rifle has a large and strong sear. However, if you pull the rear trigger first, it turns the front trigger into a hair trigger with a very light weight. Pulling the trigger then takes no force and doesn’t move the weapon like a very heavy trigger will.
Downloaded this mod, went to the location it supposed to be. So far its not on the roof. So guess somethings not right, plus this game is not a plat-former so putting it in a location that requires a player to try and platform up pipes to a roof while getting hit by radiation wasn't a very cool move.
The pistol from Doom 3 is based on the gun from blade runner. But in Blade Runner that thing could kill an andriod with like 1 shot and in Doom 3 the pistol fires peas.
Making .45 deal less damage is easy. Just use xEdit(FO4Edit).
Load up DOOMThatGun, open Object Modification and locate mod_ThatGun_AmmoConversion_45.
Under Data on the right panel, simply look over Properties till you see AttackDamage and lower the Value 1 - Float.
It sits at 0.25, so if you want it to do less damage make it 0.10 or even -0.50 if you so like. Keep in mind its a multiplier, so 0.25 is basically 1.25x of the default damage.
After more than a few characters, and despite the abundance of weapons available for this game, I keep on returning to this gun.
It retains enough of a kick to be practical for much of the game, and has a lovely big sound. It doesn't use many AP, meaning that it's a practical weapon for chaining attacks together in VATS.
Plus, of course, it has that wonderful nostalgia that takes me back almost 40 years to seeing Blade Runner for the first time.

I always wondered that
Does anyone know?

Good times.
I'm old enough to have seen Blade Runner on the big screen (several times), which, when I do the numbers, is a little bit scary.

Exit the program and you're good to go.
