I don't understand. Why would you use mesh assets from other games 'as is', rather than use tools to alter those meshes enough to create legally acceptable 'derivative' works? believe me, companies working for Square Enix do this ALL the time- deriving assets from sources they have not licensed, ensuring those assets are changed enough to avoid legal claims from the original creators. It is, indeed, how the commercial world of artists operates. Copy and change.
Mind you, corrupt European politicians have bribed corrupt British ones into changing the longstanding British laws on 'TRADE DRESS'- and this will have a DEVASTATING effect on Nexus (hosted in the UK) in the near future. After British law is changed (very soon now), owners of art assets will be able to claim infringement even if the infringing article is independently created and clearly an HOMAGE, NOT a copy.
I tried once, but it's difficult 1. because it has different physics (sidetails) and when I tried copying over the weights it was all stretched across the screen. 2. Those curls were a pain to paint. If there's a little part you miss, it looks weird. I may try again in the future though.
Ah - so computer game mods will be the next thing that will get forbidden in Orwell1986 reality LOL. So enjoy modding as long as it will be possible and I hope you will not be punished with 10.000.000 pounds to pay for some copyright infringement because of your Yennefer mod. I wonder what horrors and new absurd laws will follow in the next 10-15 years destryoing the good normal and art loving lifes of all the common peaceful people out there who just want to have a good live and fullfill their wishes in life and enjoy their hobbys and be creative. Hmmmm.
dude this mod is great I use it for years, I got all your other hairstyles as well, really good stuff. And I have a question regarding them lol
for some reason Ciri and Triss' hairs get an infinite stretch bug, then it turns my companions invisible. It's somehow related to the hair's physics (Yennefer hair works fantastic 100%)
Can you please lend me a hand here? I've been trying to fix this for some time and I would really appreciate if you happened to have a fix or at least point me to the right direction
Thank you fren, if anyone happens to know a fix I'll be glad to hear
Yeah sometime physics hairs on companions does that, what I can think of is open those hair meshes in outfit studio and delete out the _cloth bones. Then click on the Head bone and make sure the whole mesh is filled red. Export as the same mesh name. The physics will be gone but the hair will still be there.
I've found a nice hobby during those crazy times by porting mods to Bethesda.net.
And recently someone asked me to do a port of the Misc Hairstyles to XBox One and add your mod to it to save plugin space. I'd gladly fulfill his request even though i'm not sure how those hairstyle physics will behave on a console.
Permission was given to port the original mod and i was hoping i could get yours too so that i can make at least one person happy.
huh I think technically that mod shouldn't be allowed on bethesda.net because of permission issues to begin with (also why it's not on nexusmods) But I know people care a lot less now because the site and mod have been have been out for so long. So sure I guess, add in my physics version, just be sure to credit me.
I'm currently doing just that in an attempt to find 1.6 again. So far it's proven to be utterly futile. I find plenty of references to the mod but not the mod itself >
Edit: Finally found it. Damn, that was frustrating. Would've helped if I had remembered the full name of the mod.
hello! i really love this hairstyle, and after following the steps to install both this mod and misc hairstyles, i notices that yennefers hair doesnt actually have physics. not for me, at least. im not sure what the problem is, and after looking thru the posts here, i havent exactly seen anyone with the same problem as me, which leads me to believe ive done sth wrong.. could you help me?

Please do not link to files not on the Nexus
