I know that the version with the big single rotor was liked.
How about this kind of thing? Imagine jet engines/rotor hybrids attached to telescopic beams.After take off the beams could be extended to provide a larger rotor area.Stacking two tri-blades rotor is something that is pretty common nowdays.If I'm not mistaken aircrafts like the Ospray also combine engines with rotors.
