I'm not really back yet, but I saw your name in the feed and wanted to stop by to mention a game I've been playing (400+ hour marathon over the last countless weeks).. Sometimes you post gameplay films of stuff I hadn't considered yet trying, and I wanted to mention I created a gameplay film of Mount & Blade Bannerlord (linked on the Nexus supporter section if you're interested). When I made it I had you partly in mind. There's a 75% chance it's not your kind of game, and there's a lot of invade/conquer/defend involved. And lots of people play that as an Real Time Strategy game. But I don't.
You can actually participate in the battles, and those battles are absolutely incredible. Fights on different terrains or sieging and taking over castles and towns or defending villages.
You build up the ability to lead larger and larger parties or armies into battle, and most people in youtube don't actually participate in the fights. But I do, and those fights are so amazing. My favorites are the ones where I lead 50 or 100 people into fights against 200 or 300 people. Left on their own, my people would die, but with me going in and tying up the horsemen on the enemy side while my troops take on the bulk of the army is both effective and fun.
In the end of the film I linked it was the tail end of a fight in which I thought I was taking 100 to fight against 300 (barely possible, but doable). I misread the numbers, though, and it was 700 or 900+ I was fighting. My 100 all died, and the footage I linked was the tail end of my single character fighting the remnant of the enemy forces.
I just want you to be aware the game exists in the 1/4 chance you might like it.
I hope you're well, and Happy New Year to you, Andy :)

Sounds like you been busy haha. Take your time. Come back when your rdy. Oh wow, I haven't recorded a game play vid in a while now that you mentioned it. It depends on the game I'm playing but lately, I've been playing "old games". Maybe with future games I'll give it a try again but I'm glad to hear you recorded a vid.
Real time strategy games aren't my thing. I use to play Age of Empires way back but lost interest in it after a while. Glad to hear you're having fun with Mount & blade. A game I haven't heard of to be honest.
Happy gaming & New Year to you as well, friend. Apologies for missing your image. Thought I had seen/endorsed it alrdy. Since we're here, I will say I hope your vision is better for the New Year. Awesome work on the vid as well. Those battles are massive for sure haha.
