Katie: We had 2 bags of tobacco chew, 75 doses of Mex-X, 5 shots of psycho, a canteen half-full of ant nectar, a whole galaxy of multi-colored mentats, stimpaks, super stimpaks, turbos... Also, a quart of absinthe, 2 quarts of whiskey, a case of beer, one gallon of Cass' moonshine, and two dozen jets. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the jet. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of a jet binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.
