For whatever reason, that overhead shot of the farm plot is my fave.
I understand your using 'Woody'. That one is not working for me alas. It simply does not show up under 'structures'. Must be on my end of course.
Your image reminded me of that :) I like Oberland because of its location: railroad, lake, out of the city but close enough to it for visits. Greetings :)
Edit: thanks for poiting me in the right direction :)
Very nice series! Smiled reading about the 'death rule'. Mine is 'no more than two deaths before level ten' and only allowed is one death by mines (which I always forget to check) and one death by that mole rat with a mine strapped on its back. In all other cases back to the start. My char is level six now and a mine did its work already.. Otherwise playing a basic hard core game with console for shots. Have to stay out of Boston until she reaches level fifteen or so.
Like that Lobo guy - he inspired me for a more basic run this time. Cheers!
(And with the dog this time..)
I replay Lobo a lot so to keep things fresh I have to come up with my own goals and restrictions, along with different mods and ENB's. It helps that I also simply enjoy watching him and Dogmeat playing. Toss in a handsome Danse or Deacon for a little manly variety and all is good.
I hope you enjoy some extra time with Dogmeat. I must confess I do boost his stats as otherwise he dies too often which is too sad. Also in my world he is an elite soldier dog with regenerative abilities. So I set his strength to 16 and his endurance to 20 with the console. Not a massive OP boost but enough to make him a bit more durable. Especially when I can get him some armor.
setav endurance 20
setav strength 16
if you save after that it will remain in that save forward.
You can check his stats by using the getav command, i.e.
getav agility
getav strength
etc...
His default agility and intelligence is already high. I also set his luck to 15 as any dog who has lasted that long in the wasteland, and looks that good, is damn lucky :) Not that I think it makes any difference what so ever but in my head I like to see him as a very lucky dog :)
Also, I love the colouration in this set in general - it's not oversaturated or colourful but still rich and deep - really pleasing for the eyes.
You once said that you are now and then lucky with some good landscape shots....I reckon you did a Hattrick here - these 1 - 2 - 3 - are incredible.
I love the colours and the one with the tracks is absolutely top-notch - melancholic but also hope-giving since the tracks may lead to a good place.
Thank you!

I liked the Zayde Wolf song. It had a bit of a dark country sound to it. I got curious about the name -- Jon and his wolves. So I looked up Zayde Wolf. From the "bio" page of Zayde Wolf: He says he was born in Metropolis, Illinois, you know like Clark Kent. Being born there almost surely makes one think about alternate identities. Zayde Wolf is the nom de plume of Dustin Burnett, quite an accomplished writer and producer. Burnett calls Wolfe a project rather than a pseudonym.
p.s. The settlement is looking good. I'm having trouble with garden plots right now. They aren't "nav-meshed."
Aye I have been listening to Zayde Wolf for a while now, really enjoy a lot of his music although I hadn't ever looked into his history so that was pretty cool, thanks for sharing that. I don't know why I don't think to do things like that. Probably because I tend to be so wrapped up in my own head too often.
I had some more settlement shots but since it is only about 1/3 done (got the framework I wanted with the "bridge" like wall all around the area - and will then build some stuff on top of that in certain places) so maybe later if I remember. I don't use a lot of building mods - a small favorite handful I like - and it is hard for me to build as I can't use the arrow keys in build mode due to how I map my keyboard (and don't use F4SE to do a special remapping). So I have to use the auto run button and my mouse to move around. Can make building a challenge although I have gotten pretty good at it. Lobo isn't a huge builder anyhow - just wants a place to rest and eat most of the time :)
I went with laying low for the title as I restarted and playing a rather ultra hard core game with him right now. Decided he would make his home base at Oberland after escaping the Institute hence the "laying low" part. Also a good song from Paul Simon.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wulver
The wulver is a kind of wolf-like humanoid creature in the folklore of the Shetland Islands of Scotland.
Fenn Finn-Gall comes from "Fenrisulfr" or "wolf of the fens" and Finn-Gall has to do with a name used to describe vikings
Grimulfr Fenrirson means the Dark Wolf, son of Fenris.
Marrok (probably don't know him, my Dark Elf in Skyrim) is the name of a Knight of King Arthurs round table cursed with lyncanthropy.
... and so it goes :)
In short, though, he returns carrying the sister who was badly wounded by the raiders. She tells her sister how she saw him ripping apart raiders bare handed to reach her cell (he tends to fight unarmed with just spiked knuckles and kicks ... sometimes a melee weapon though).
Later, during dinner, when they ask him to say he explains he is a rogue Courser (and what that means) and he would understand if wish him to leave but are hoping they believe him when he says he just needs a play to lay low and would be happy to help them in turn. Since he earned their trust they accept.
Course the conversation was a bit more involved in my head ... not sure if I will write it all down but you get the idea.
I should add while being an elite courser, turned partly human, he isn't invincible. I am playing him on ultra hard mode with a lot of self-imposed rules. One rule is if he dies before reaching level 3 I have to restart from scratch. I restarted 8 times :P Going naked, hungry, thirsty, tired, radiated, with no supplies from the CIT ruins at level one with only melee and unarmed for weapons (although he can use a crossbow) in survival mode ... is difficult.
But he is now level 5 with no deaths, although he almost died from rad poisioning due to getting caught out in the open during a real bad rad storm ... then getting attached by 3 ghouls (thank god for dogmeat or he would have been toast). With no stims he littlerly hobbled all the way back to Oberland Station from up past Gray Garden. I had to get him to a proper bed to sleep. Then I had to find some rad away ... anyhow lots of fun :)
Hmm. I mean, everyone in the Commonwealth is that scared of the Institoot that the sisters would probably run away screaming.
They'd probably find it somewhat more palatable if he said: "Super soldier from before the war who was chemically altered and enhanced with combat AI chip but I am/was human and am programmed to protect all innocents and have just escaped cryo-stasis after vault generator failure".
The protect all innocents bit should make em feel a bit safer
I only have one rule:
No Repetition.
That means no survival mode for me because saving being disabled sticks in my craw, it's a cheap and dated tactic that sucks so much that it's really sucky. I hate it and would rather scrub my arsecrack with a building brick than put up with it
I am not so sure on the Institute though. I can think of a variety of people you meet who seem to handle synths okay and the folks of GN seem to put up a good front with the Institute, as do many of the Railroad agents. So I think it depends on their background.
Also I think if someone saves your sister from kidnapping, possibly worse, and carries her all the way back to you and then helps you heal her and protect you ... they might be a little more willing to consider it. I mean if he wanted to kill them he could easily do so and certainly with less trouble. So I would have to disagree that they would run away. Some might for sure but others I think have a stronger will than that.
PS - While I was doing that third shot one of the sisters sat down (I was doing them next to the campfire which I had placed some chairs around as I liked the thought that the three of them would sit around at night cooking and eating together) and spent the whole photo shoot watching him. Lobo was flexing heavily. Also that is why in the sitting shots his eyes are actually looking to the right, versus the left at Dogmeat, as the sister was on the right.
Great set Jon!!!
