Also, that green wrap and string you have around the flash hider would likewise be melted or on fire after just a few rounds (unless that's actually a tiny suppressor, but it looks like slots under the wrap from what I can tell). Really great design otherwise, and I'm digging (pun alert) the quality welds which highlight a very solid original weapon lurking under the Raider "modifications". An HK53K is nearly this small and is chambered in 5.56, so you're on the right track if you want a short barreled rifle option. Maybe have a unique version that exists somewhere in the world that hasn't been molested by Raiders yet; a factory original appearing gun would be pretty sweet too! Looking forward to getting this in game. And please don't forget a suppressor option if that is indeed a flash hider! Oh, finally, the barrel should be threaded at the muzzle so the brakes, comps, and flash hiders can all attach....
That thing with a wrap is a makeshift suppressor, made from different scrap pieces. Can't remember what exactly I took as a reference for the cylindrical part, but the notches on it are there for more or less visual purposes, because I figured that it looked a bit bland if it's just a plain cylinder, plus that way it gives more of a makeshift feeling. They definitely don't come all the way through the cylinder, I can promise you that.
As for the threaded muzzle - there is already an option for that: the barrel tip that is fitted into receiver in the images is supposed to be a stub option, while the bottom muzzle is a "standart" variant with threads, and thus when you apply any other muzzle attachment, the base of this thing stays visible. :)
So yeah, in terms of mag dimensions it's more on a bigger size because the gun is supposed to be a bit of everything. After all, I can picture how someone could jury-rig the mag to fit smaller ammo, but have a really hard time picturing the opposite situation where you would need to cram the ammo into a distinctively smaller mag.
Hope that answers your comment :)
