About this image

This is an image from a FO4 mod I'm working on called Weapon Addition and Replacement Suite (WARS).

The WIP thread can be found here.

I've been working on an M1911 for WARS, and here it is in-game. Just shots of it in the inventory/workbench for now, as I haven't done the animations for it yet. (That's next up.)

The base M1911 itself is from this beautiful resource by Isildur - with some minor tweaks on my end. Just about all the other parts, attachments and skins for the M1911 are mine from scratch though. (I'll make a note when that's not the case. For example here, where the vertical foregrip is based on a mesh by sgtbarney.)

I had a request to show the M1911 in this configuration - blued, short barrel, but fully decked out beyond that - so here it is.

Thanks of humoring me, I think theres something really charming about the shining parallel lines of the laser and suppressor, the intersecting (kinda parallel) lines from two angled wood grips, and how with the extended mag the weapon's general shape becomes a big gleaming isosceles triangle, theres just something brilliantly Art-Deco about it.
To me it looks like the sort of gun that would inspire a popular mechanics artist or illustrator for flash gordon's design for a ray gun, kinda a space-gun from before those were actually around.

Using the old Broomhandle Mauser certainly worked pretty well for Han Solo's DL-44 blaster.

But anyway, yeah; in WARS I'm definitely trying to avoid having much of the ultra-modern high-speed low-drag kind of attachments seen in a lot of weapon mods for FO4. I do want a lot of customisability via weapon mods, but with more of a classic feeling.
