I imagine that DFB has the answer. There is another command: actor alpha that sets the transparency of characters. saa x.x (0.0 to 1.0) But once set it remains permanent until you set alpha to 1.0. So probably not the problem.

Thanks Laird - though I do not understand a word of what you're talking about Anyway - I've done some digging myself and I think I've found the reason. Finding the cure is another matter though.........

I just spent several hours poking around and noticed a massive amount has been changed in the game since the somewhat recent big update.
I've also notice ALOT! of mods made before the update has serious problems working now.
I'm surprised this isn't a big subject people are talking about.
It fundamentally breaks the modding community.
It cant just be for creation club.
There has to be more to this as to why Bethesda would do this to there product supporters.
    We will never know
Anyway when you can please try this possible fix and let me know if it worked.
Open console and click on the NPC or Playing character and copy and use this command line.

Thank you DeltaFour I for one haven't run into any major problems since I reinstalled the game in January. And I'm using a lot of favorite mods from way back. Even some I've stored on my HDD. I'll give it a shot and get back to you

I've been noticing some crazy weirdness in my game recently (well, more than the usual ), too, and have been trying to figure out what the heck is going on. (I thought I mixed the wrong mods together--although, except for one or two new ones, they're basically the same ones I've always had--but maybe not from I've been reading here. ) Hope you get it figured out, Steff!

I Hope I'm able to help him.
From what I've noticed it's small things but they add up to become an issue.
The older Fallout4.esm FormID's has changed as new FormID's have been added.
So any mod looking for that wont find it or something else in its place.
I would love to know if this is a wide spread issue or just me.
Why could Bethesda not add a new .esm file for creation club content?
Or am I misunderstanding how it should be implemented.

I ran into something similar at one point, and I installed a mod that disabled the chameleon effect, can't recall which one now, though, and it was a couple of installs ago. No idea if it's actually the same thing, but figured I'd at least let you know.

Thank you Sonja I think I'll test another character I've got going. And then a purely vanila outfit too. If not......... Well - - Culuf and DeltaFour have a couple of ideas so......

Never seen anything like this in BGS games before. Most likely not the textures issue. Can be shaders related.

Check your pip boy to see any effects on him, also see if his armor has stealth enabled on it.

Radiation damage effect? I think. It happened to my companions for a really long time. Outfit changes won't fix.
    Have you tried player.dispelallspells?

Not radiation. He was at full health when entering the SD Mart. I don't know anything about spells in this game so that is a negative. Thank you for the tip Culuf

Unfortunately, I've no idea what's causing that issue. I know certain damage effects can apply a sort of skin to the character, that could be a cryo effect that got stuck on you? Or it could be another issue entirely, I've really no clue. Not familiar enough with F4 engine and it's particular brand of weirdness to give you much more than that.

I do like the small shooting range setup you've got though!

It's a first for me too. It has been acting this way for a while but it is n ot until now I've gotten around to do a couple of pics. Guess I'm used to all sorts of odd things shappening in this game The range is - of course- purely for decoration. The settlers won't use it. But I think the local lawman would have some place to practise so.......... Thank you BN
