About this image
Now that Rico's story is finally over, I can make a compendium reuniting all the links to the chapters, so navigation and reading is easier (and also because the about me page of the website is constantly bugging and doesn't properly save the changes made to it).
This is the ultimate compendium of Rico's story, and in the next days, I will modify every chapter so they include a link to this page, again to serve as a central hub to the story.
I WON'T make any changes to this page, as the story is now complete, I also won't re-upload it, so keep it in your bookmarks so you can find the list of chapters more easily.
The link to this page will also be featured on my profile description.

Then, when I acquired a much better hardware, I could improve the graphics, add high-resolution textures, new models, try different ENB's, and more. I had to work hard to make good use of the new potential of my machine, and this story helped me a lot with it.
And the screens became more than a support, but an essential part of the story.
I even learned to use Blender and Gimp, enough to create the thing I wanted to include in my story since the chapter 10, almost one year ago.
I took a lot of pleasure and enjoyment writing this story and living it, and the lasts chapters have been very intense, the amount of work needed to produce them ranging in the hundreds of hours of work, being for the screens and scenery, and also for the writing; each chapter, between the 37 and the final one, requiring between two and four weeks of writing, contrasting to the couple of hours I was taking for the writing of the fists chapters; and I was regularly spending hours simply writing and rewriting short passages, until I was satisfied of the results; one passage in the chapter 40, only a dozen of lines, took me an entire week before managing to get a result I was deeming good.
This is also that exigence of quality that caused me to rewrite the firsts 14 chapters, including the prologue, that I wasn't deeming good enough after all, before pursuing the story further.
I spent a lot of time, working on the realism and coherence, on the conservation of details and logical answers and explanations, to give a realistic vibe to this story anchored in Fallout's universe.
At the end, I am happy to have worked on this until the end, and, as you maybe know, I already started another story: Kingsley White, an ordinary day, and this is only a prologue.
But, at the same time, I can't but wonder: during this year and a half of work, I must admit I haven't played Fallout 4 much outside of when I was doing it for Rico's story; the numerous screens I took and posted on the website in the meanwhile were mostly improvisations when I was bored or wanted to make some nice screenshots; but other than that, it's been a lot time since I havent' REALLY played the game.
Also, there another thing that has bothered me throughout Rico's story: the persistent feeling that at the end, no one cares about my work, expect a few people; so, maybe it's the fatigue of the last month of work for the final chapter, maybe it's the feeling of emptiness coming with the end of a long work than spanned for more than a year, but I need to think about all of this; because if really no one cares, well, even if I'd really like to write Kingsley's story, and that I will have the same exigence of high quality both in the scenery and in the storytelling; it means it will require an awful lot of work, and if that work is finally received with complete indifference, well, I might as well not bother and not throwing myself in a story than will likely span for an entire year that will end up be completely ignored.
I repeat, maybe I am wrong, maybe I am absolutely right and no one cares, either way, I need to take some time to rest, to figure things up, and to think of what I will do next.
For your next project with Kingsley I am very teased from the prologue. You are right, this amount of work behind needs more attention . I assume, that many of use care for it, but if someone is not a native english speaker, than it is very difficult to read such long chapters. Perhaps it would be a good idea, to make your chapters a bit smaller. I think, it would be easier fo follow your really outstanding work
After that, I was compiling the screens and doing the writing, that was taking me 3-4 hours.
That way, I was releasing a chapter every two days, and at that time, I clearly remember that I was finding this being too much of work.
How ironic when you see my current chapters, especially from chapter 37 who took me between 3 and 6 weeks to make
But I know why it ended up that way: from the chapter 18, the story has taken a more narrative driven direction, and I got my new computer a few weeks later, that allowed me to a lot of things I couldn't with the previous one; so I got a little carried away, but at the same time, I had so much I wanted to tell and, being an avid and quick reader myself, I wanted to give people matter to read and think, not just a few sentences and that's all; I wanted something consistent, almost like a tv show episode.
You know what? I had the entire story planned and the chapters were already settled, for some, one year before I actually released them; in fact, maybe I should write tv shows instead
Regardless, you're right, maybe I should do smaller chapters, I still haven't decided what to do next; currently, I have started again playing Conan Exiles and I really enjoy myself, so we'll see; I have a few ideas of stories regardless, either on SKyrim or Fallout 4.
Ps: look at me, answering to your post advising me to make smaller chapters, and answering with a wall of text
I hope, you don´t feel affronted by my words
If you're interested, for now, I have no less than four different ideas of story that I could write, of course, I won't write them at the same time; Kingsley for FO4 of course, Jenna's story too, along with some background before the war; and two for Skyrim, my couple of Orcs and their quest to find a new home in the middle of a dragon crisis, or my dark elf and his ascension to power; I add that his story would be much darker and grittier than the others.
I have a lot of ideas and I have already the pitchs for all of them, so I have to think of it; especially since I probably could use some extra mods for Skyrim, and I need to find a good ENB for Fallout 4; although the one I used for my recent screens from yesterday and today look very good to me.
What do you think of it?
About your pics from yesterday and today ... I like the clear colors. Is it PCR?
But that's not what I was asking you in fact I was asking you you opinion about what story I should write next
Kudos on a momentous Story!
