Even if the contest has long been over, those tips and tricks still hold value.

Screenarchery sounds okay for those who started gaming from The Elder Scrolls, but what about those who started with the Fallout series? Screengunnery, of course!

Or screen-bombery. That pretty much comes with the territory whenever Dogmeat is around...

Really appreciate the time and effort you make on behalf of the community. Sharing your experiences, advice and point of view is a very kind thing to do. You seem to always provide me with plenty to think about. And, sometimes, I'll remember something when I'm working on a screenshot. I used to always just 'eyeball' the composition of images because that was what I was used to doing with camera photography. Now, i have a device for measuring the 'rule of thirds' and, most of the time, I'll use it. Honestly, I think it has definitely improved my composition in many images.

Appreciate the content here, as much as the event.. Thanks!
I hope basic/unfiltered content is also seriously considered for every aesthetic point also

Thank you! If I understand you correctly, an unmodified vanilla game shot will absolutely be considered on its own aesthetic merits alongside the fanciest ENB'd mash-up. The key is to lean in to what makes the visual setup work effectively. In the vanilla game, that can be quite limited (because un-modded Bethesda games generally have low-res textures, simplistic models, and flat lighting pretty much across the board) but working within those limitations can be very rewarding. ...Because Bethesda games also are wildly creative in world-building and character design, and are often deliberately moody to good effect. There are always moments of surpassing beauty to be captured, even in a flaming pile of wonderfully conceived, poorly executed ideas.

      Good to know, the mindset.
Everyone has a different set-up, for whatever reasons.. But as long as the 'eye' is still considered, as much as hardware & software..

I guess I have the eyes and the imagination for a scene, but have never tried taking screenshots. I just never thought what meant anything to me would mean anything to someone else. My character struggles with her memories of the commonwealth before and after the "bang" and the loss of her husband (yeah, I know he can be saved--but SHE doesn't). For me, it's the "oh god, oh god, oh god" moments that have such an effect on me. Those don't include the battles she gets into later, or the just having to survive...It's small realizations. The things that would make someone crack in the night and cry themselves to sleep in the dark when they are all alone. I might take a shot at this; I might wait until next time. However, I will definitely be playing around with some screenies for the firs time ever. Thanks for the inspiration!

So glad to hear that you're inspired to take your vision from concept to creative reality! That's a very evocative emotional framework you describe, and one that readily lends itself to exploration through the medium of Fallout 4. Please don't hesitate to holler if you would like specific constructive feedback on your developing craft.

Thanks for the tips! My screen-archery has a long way to go to be really good, but I try to learn more every time I do it. Your suggestions will be very helpful as I continue to work to improve....and maybe win a competition one day!

Thanks Judy, kind of you to say. I dunno, I think you've got a pretty recognizable expressive style that's very much your own- and that's the most important thing in all this art-making business.
