She didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the world was turning?

well, yes. If you can eat the food after 200 years in fallout, I'm sure the fire can last for several millennia.

"I can't be bothered to take the time for a new mod install for a game I don't even play anymore."

We all move on eventually. I am not ready for FO 76 yet. It's not looking too good to me.

I'm not talking about 76, but the next game.
FO76 is pure trash, plain and simple. They'd either have to overhaul the entire game or pay me to play it or otherwise make it F2P for me to even consider touching it. Even if that game had the full might of the modding community working on it, it would still be awful. You can mod and change stuff here and there but there still needs to be a good or at least decent game behind all that, a base to build upon, otherwise there is just no point and you'll be left with a polished turd.

Did you manage to recover your character properly?
I assume these images are something you've taken earlier.

yes these are leftovers, I got 1 or 2 left and then that's it.
I didn't reinstall anything yet except for the vanilla game. I... just don't feel like taking the time to reinstall all those mods again. Technically I could just copy-paste my backup on top of the new game install but it was a mess with folders and files everywhere and I kinda wanted a clean from scratch mod install.

So I can't be bothered to take the time for a new mod install for a game I don't even play anymore and I don't want the broken old install either. I might just call it quits, stop, move on and wait for the next game but I'll see.

I feel ya. Installing all the required mods for some saves can be real pain in the ass.
And I've done it so many times now that I really don't wanna do it anymore, either.

I guess I'll get back into it at some point, but right now, I don't really care enough to do it.
