I planned to make animations for these but I couldn't find a copy of 3DS Max 2015. The gun proportions are too far off from the flare gun so vanilla animations look bad. Should I release the mod anyway or what?

Very nice! I'd love to have a sort of early game-ish .38 cal revolver and I also really like the break-action mechanic

Isn't there Havok support for the 2017 version of 3DS Max? I may be thinking of the .nif exporter...
You could try handing this project over to another author, or if you upload it now maybe someone such as WarDaddy will take it on themselves to make animations. For example the Wolfenstein guns or the Chinese assault rifle and pistol.
Looks great. Would love to see some gunslinger like animations.

There two MP-412. Im using one by ajhakra. I think this mod have better animations.

pretty. Still hope something comes of that nuclear flashlight, it'd be particularly cool if it used a spotlight effect for its projectile, and maybe set things on fire that way or something

oh hell yes!!! to this day this is one of my all time favourite weapons on nexus, haven't played a single playthrough without it. which is weird for me cus i'm constantly changing my mods lol

Of course you should. Great models, so wow.
There is MP-412 with custom anims. This gun is reload-break-action too, like Schofield. May be, you can try this?
And 3DS Max, pssst, how about... ahem.... torrents?...

  I'll look into the MP-412 and see if it's animations look better.
