Reshade can be awesome alternative for ENBs, much more performance friendly, with tones of filters to use in game. Some of the effects won't looks as good as with ENB, some other will look just great. I'd suggest to try this out before dealing with ENB. Of course, it can be used along with ENB.
ReShade - some nice visual effects for Fallout 4. This one is just a clear ReShade without any modders interference, just in case you wish to configure it yourself or need it for modded variations.
Technical note:Installation instructions:
- For safe uninstall use Enb and ReShade remover, simple .bat file with dos commands to remove most of Enb/ReShade/SweetFx profiles from your Fallout 4 folder. It works with ENBs as well.
- It's worth to set ReShade into Performance Mode after configuration.
- To access ReShade menu in game press HOME button. In there you can load a preset or manually set filters.
- Download and run ReShade.exe
- Select Fallout 4 (Fallout4.exe)
- Select DirectX 10/11/12
- Tick some filters and press OK
- Done
Technical info:
This ReShade is standalone.

Installation instructions:Author's note:
- Go to http://reshade.me/ and download the standard ReShade package, extract only the ReShade folder and reshade.fx to your Fallout 4 root folder (Commonly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4)
- Download the SIFx rar file, and extract it to your fallout root folder too, overwriting if necessary
- Sharpening: Brings out the small details in textures, best used with TAA, which reduces aliasing hugely, but introduces a lot of blurriness
- Vibrance: Slightly increased to make colors pop a little bit more
- Contrast: Slightly increased to make the game feel less washed out
- Chromatic Aberration: While not a fan of this myself, a very, very slight implementation of this fits the retro-futuristic atmosphere well, can be easily disabled if disliked
