Modding Fallout 3 - Part 3 : Weather and Lighting

  • Comment

The third video in my new series describing how to mod Fallout 3. It is aimed at people completely new to modding, but will require that you have installed Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) and the Fallout3 Script Extender (FOSE). You can see my previous videos if you have not installed those.

I am truly looking forward to your lets play of FO3. I am installing all the mods you are covering. I never purchased the DLC except anchorage and the PITT, so I grabbed GOTY off steam.

I did have a problem after installing the FO3 comprehensive bug fix. I deleted all the content and started from scratch to fix things. Im running FWE and im not sure what I did, but when I got to evergreen mills ... I am lvl 17 and I sniped all the raiders before going after the behemoth. I laid out 3 lunchbox bombs that are supposed to be pretty devastating. All it did was knock him on his butt. I dropped 6 of them and still no real damage. Even with psyco pumping me 25% and reasonably high explosive skill. It didnt help that that my damned ghoul companion kept going after the behemoth with his shotgun. I finally left him somewhere to come back. But still could not.

anyways.. looking forward to the LP!!

I find it very odd that you're reviewing almost entirely ancient mods that haven't been updated in a while, and only a single mod that's newer than 2 years old.

And by making Fellout take precedence over Enhanced Weather, you've effectively made EW not do much. "You may notice that nothing much happened"... because you just turned it off, except for some very minor triggers.

And there is another mod that changes the atmosphere of the game that you completely overlooked, but as it's mine and I'm prone to being partial, I'll forgive you on that account.

As always a great vid for comparing the various mods. I've used fellout and PR and seeing the difference via vid makes it a lot easier to compare. I think I'm with you that PR is probably a more post-apocalyptic feel and, as such, fits in with the game lore and setting more aptly.
