Skyrim update potentially coming week after Thanksgiving (11/24)

  • Comment
Pete Hines announced on Twitter (and Nick Breckon announced on the official forums) that the next Skyrim update/patch is on the way. The update has been submitted to Sony and Microsoft for certification and "PC [is] coming too."

The current estimate is that the patch will be available the week after Thanksgiving (November 24th), meaning somewhere around the end of November or start of December.

No details yet on what, specifically, the patch will address or fix.

darksloth: I read the same, I am curious to know exactly what steam had me download now....lol

Yeah I'm very curious too. Stupid response I know but what did they actually send you?

I backed up all my textures, mods and config too. I don't trust Bethesda as far as I can throw them at the moment. Just read that the PS3 update has fixed some issues but there are still some problems, glad I don't own one.

Just been reading some recent news, PC and Xbox360 patch is expected to release Wednesday November 30th.

Things I have noticed so far:

Re-installed the mods I use, no issue

The custom shaders I use are not working, and for some reason steam is wanting to auto-delete the enb.ini and patch ini everytime I boot up the game...so, not sure what is going on there.

If I notice anything else I will post more info.

Yes, before you ask the auto-delete happens when I use default launcher and the 4GB launcher.

Xaevyn: Ok thanks I guess it might appear in the UK around midnight maybe. I won't download until I've read what it does.

Is that for UK downloaders too? Since I live in the UK and I'd hate that to happen to me.

I don't know what is going on at Bethesda I wish someone had inside info on what they are actually doing. That last DRM update was done completely on the sly. I have no issue with Steam but clearly it wasn't Valve at fault its something Bethesda have requested. Security is an understandable issue for them, but I expect a product I am licensed to used, to function correctly and I'd expect more from a major developer in terms of feedback than an uneasy silence which is very unprofessional. If they at least explained their reasons fans would not be so disillusioned.

    Stardusk: I sympathise completely.

Not sure, US client here but I agree, They should have released patch notes with this simply due to the fact there is no info on it. I have been scouring the official forums and nothing has popped up yet.

Just downloaded a 5600mb update for Skyrim about 20 minutes ago, not sure what they did but it removed my Texture folder for the mods I DL'ed from here, anyone else having this issue?
