I find this mod too dark in intériors. he ruined my expérience because we can't see the beautiful artistic direction in differents bunkers. It's good in metro and abandonned housse but that's all for my opinion.

Interesting mod but it's mis-named for it isn't realistic - it's cinematic. Movies, especially horrors, use a heavily localised light focusing for impact and to hide stage set limitations. and this is further affected by film cameras (and tv screens) and their settings and limitations for dealing with contrast. But in the real world lighting doesn't work that way, and nor does the human eye.

Light from a fire barrel in a metro station should be dancing off the far walls, and elsewhere all lit surfaces should reflect a proportion of the light from any light sources. Turn on a desk lamp in the movies and it just impactfully lights up the desk, but at home your whole bedroom gets some light, and if you turn the lamp toward the wall you'll get quite a lot of reflected room lighting. And that's without even waiting for your eyes to adjust to light levels, which of course they will do.

Fallout can't possibly mimic all that so just doesn't make interiors too dark. The answer isn't to make everything darker and localised unless you want a movie. That's fine, even fantastic, if it increases your enjoyment of the game. Just don't go calling it "realistic" because it isn't. If the Citadel's and other labs were really that dark, its users would add lots more light. In movies, labs are dramatically dark, in reality labs are always brightly lit.

well written, i needed to remove this mod because it made metro tunnels even darker and had to always switch on my pip-boy light to see almost everything. good mod though!

      Wow... Just saw this.

I use a modified version of TTW 2.9b; you can't get it anymore. I had to convert this mod using FNVedit for it to work... I have no idea if this mod is even compatible with the current version of TTW 3.3.

Maybe it's because I have fellout installed, but this doesn't work.

Very cool mod although like streetyson points out it's not realistic and far from perfect, in some places this is particularly awkward, for example, in between 2 lightbulbs that are only 3-4 meters apart there is a space with pitch black darkness, how does that work?
For most of the places you explore though it looks great and it's pretty cool to have to depend on your pip boy light to see, in the end I'm enjoying this mod a lot.
I use this in combination this darker nights mod, although that mod's issues are a bit more glaring and it's a lot more impactful gameplaywise, using both might not be for everyone, you basically have to not explore at night and then you have Megaton's residents walking around in near pitch black darkness like they're mole people, but much like this mod the feeling on being in a vast darkness with your pipboy as a light source is great.

Btw this mod missed the Hazmat disposal site L5 location, but so far that was the only place I found where the lighting wasn't changed.

I cant for the life of me get this mod to work alongside Fellout. I know theyre supposed to be compatible with the right LO but I can't get it working whenever Fellout is installed.
