There still seems to be a limit? I've been hiring modded companions en masse and suddenly got a "you have to many followers" message and one of them disappeared.
I opened the mod in the GECK and I went to the dialogue with Eulogy in the "FollowersHireClover" quest. Go to "BuyClover3a," the first line, add the following condition: "Condition Function (GetQuestVariable)," "Function Parameters (Quest: Followers, Variable Name: PlayerHasFollower)," "Comparison (> )," "Value (10)," "Run On (Subject)." Leave the "Use Global" and "OR" check boxes empty.
Five years after this post and this solution worked perfectly for me and I'm now able to buy Clover. It's worth noting that if you're using the GECK in Windows 10, it's well worth installing the FO3 GECK Extender. Until I installed it, the conditions of the dialog topic rendered as blank boxes on account of a problem that dates back to Windows 8. The GECK Extender fixes that problem, and many others.
My GECK crashes when i try to click on the dialogue line! I already installed Extender and there is another problem, i can't seem to patch Geck with Geck Patcher, that comes with Geck Extender! It gives me "invalid GECK" error when applying the patch! It is worth noting that i'm using the default GECK, that came with GOTY GOG edition of the game and i never downloaded standalone version from elsewhere! Can this be a problem or GOG version already uses latest (patched) version? ANd if it is so, then why i'm still getting "Invalid GECK" error when trying to Patch the extender?? ...Ugh i heard that solution is to plug in Mic, but i don't have a Mic, then they say just plug headphones and i don't freaking have headphones either! LOL Can't someone just make these adjusments and upload it like ANYWHERE please?! Not necessary as Nexus Mod, maybe some file sharing source or something, like anywhere at all, where i could download it from?!
After put the file contained in the download into your FO3 Install Folder and run the patch. It will update your GECK to 1.5 (I recommend saving a copy of the original installed by GOG for just in case). After that you can then patch it with the FO3 GECK Extender and it will work with no "Invalid GECK" error.

Just in case since I had to do a bit of trial and error to get the Clover hire working: 1. Run GECK 2. Select ONLY "FollowersHireContinued-XXXX.esp" (XXX the flavor you use) and mark as active. Then OK. 3. In object window select *ALL on left side and filter "Clover" 4. Follow steps in BradTheAmerican original post. (Thank you was pulling my hair out). ?a. It is under TOPICS ?b. Line says "Any time you need some company..."
This plugin turns impossible to use RL-3, Fawkes or Charon to activate the airlock in Take it Back because it overwrites essential functions in their scripts (checked with FO3Edit).
Since i know nothing about FO3 modding to make a fix or "merge" both scripts, could someone make a version of this mod to work with those BrokenSteel issues?
Why i Can't Purchase Clover???I'm using no checks version and it says you can only have one follower at a time even though i'm alone,but i switched to a another version i was able to buy her though.bug problem?
I get the same message. nd I currently have jerico , I dont have dogmeat atm, just jerico, .. I'm using the no karma check and the other 2 esp are sitting in the recycle bin atm, but I'm thinkijng of letting jerico go anyway and removing the mod, so I can go places they cant ...
For some reason the game won't let me recruit Clover, I have the no checks version of the plugin installed, but it just won't let me recruit her, even though I'm able to recruit every other companion, I even tried not having any other companion and it STILL won't let me recruit Clover...
Lol. Clover cannot be recruited by any means. The only way to get her is to purchase her as a bodyguard from Eulogy Jones. The requirement to trigger the dialog with E. Jones is Karma: Evil (-250 to -749). The cost is 1000 caps (or 500 caps if your Barter 50+)

Just be aware, it doesn't work well with everyone. For example, some NPCs like children do not have any combat scripts and will usually just run away.
