weapon and armor models from the HL2 mod eternal silence with permission from the makers themselves

UPDATE as of 08/13/09: uploaded a EARLY alpha of the weapons mod. it was assimbled by jackpack. its basically a starting point for modders and to see what needs fixing with the weapons so im looking for somebody that can fix them. what needs to be fixed are the textures (included in the decompiled models download) , sounds (included in the decompiled models download), visual effects, rigging the ion cannon to 1 of the 3 over the shoulder holding anims (the mininuke, the missle launcher or the tesla cannon anims) and rate of fire for every weapon. basically to get the weapons as close as possible to eternal silence behavior so since some of you have not played the eternal silence halflife 2 mod i uploaded a vid of all the weapons in the mod and how they are supposed to perform and sound. also im not worried about bullpup reload/holding anims because of the FO3 limitations so thats not a issue. any ways here is the download link to the vids http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FAMDCH5J


The models are from the eternal silence mod for HL2. i ( ninjagaidan1 member of the bethsoft fallout 3 forums) converted the models from .mdl format to .smd format so somebody can use it.

alright now the models are in .smd format so you will need a .smd importer script/program for 3dsmax OR for blender before the models can be used in fallout 3.

When you open up the files you may see two differnt folders for each weapon and armor model. the folders will say UTF and NGM. this stands for what version of the gear is it. UTF is UNITED TERRAN FORCES version and NGM is the NEO GALACTIC MILITIA version.

i found some importers and they can be found at the urls below (as of july 2 2009)

and textures are in .VTF format so they have to be converted to .tga i assume so there is a VTF to TGA converter at http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/VTF2TGA_Converter_Utility;35355

EDIT: textures have to be in .dds format for FO3 so as far as i know you cant convert .vtf to .dds directly so you have to convert it over to .tga then to .dds.

This is the first upload with just the weapons and armor models. the next step is for the ships, capitol ships, props and etc... to be decompiled. If you want to help out to speed up the process then please if you have a copy of half-life 2 or another other source game like counter-strike source then go on steam and download the eternal silence mod then download the source SDK then download a .MDL decompiler from http://www.chaosincarnate.net/cannonfodder/cftools.htm since the models are in .mdl format and must become.smd files. The mod itself will be in a .gcf file in your steam\steam appsfolder so use GCFscape at http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=76 and extract the folders you are going to be working on decompiling. when done upload it to nexus in the model and texture section and notify me and credit the models makers.
