Pa's Fishing Aid is a unique version of Double-Barrel Shotgun added to Fallout 3 with the Point Lookout add-on.

It looks identical to it's regular version, Double-Barrel Shotgun, but differs in damage, price and other characteristics. It can only be repaired by Combat Shotguns.

It deals less damage per shot than the Double-Barrel Shotgun but this is made up for with a higher Critical Hit damage. Pa's Fishing Aid, when combined with the Better Criticals perk can make a single Sneak Attack Critical deal a whopping 2400 damage!

The name is most likely a reference to the commonly known idiom "shooting fish in a barrel" or the (possibly fictional) idea of shooting fish from a boat as opposed to trying to catch them.
May also be a reference to The Zombie Survival Guide in which a method of killing water-born ghouls is described as shooting them in the chest with a harpoon and pulling them to the surface (fishing). The picture describing this action has two men on a boat one pulling up the ghoul and the other with a Double Barrel Shotgun at it's head.
