WHAT IT DOES

It replaces the Ol' Painless (named unique hunting rifle) with a silenced version. The damage, accuracy, etc, have not been changed.

Personally I consider it to be a little bit unbalanced, but it's up to you to decide if you mind that or not.

HOW TO GET IT

Same as you'd always get Ol' Painless. Or if you already had it, it will automatically sprout a silencer.

KNOWN BUGS

If you already had Ol' Painless, this seems to reset its ownership to the original owner. So if you ever drop it, getting it back should count as "stealing". But fortunately that's easily avoided by simply not dropping it.

Also, when seen from first person, the silencer might seem _slightly_ mis-aligned with the barrel. Actually it's aligned with the bullet exit node (i.e., with the barrel's hole) to 5 decimals, but the exterior of the barrel is all dinged and mis-shapen, so it might not align that well with the silencer's exterior. But rest assured that the bullet passes just right through it ;)

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Search for "set bInvalidateOlderFiles=0" in your Fallout3.ini file and change it to "set bInvalidateOlderFiles=1", if you haven't done so already.

Extract the archive, with directories, in your Fallout3\Data folder. Select it in the list of plugin files in the launcher.

HOW TO UNINSTALL IT

Delete the .esp file from your Data directory.

Delete the file Data\Weapons\2HandRifle\HuntingRifleSilenced.NIF, starting from your Fallout3 directory.

CONFLICTS

It will conflict with other mods that change Ol' Painless (e.g., the one that gives it .308 ammo), except for any retextures that affect all hunting rifles. I.e., if a mod consists only of new .dds files, it's ok.

It shouldn't conflict with anything else, because it doesn't change anything else.

It _is_ compatible with all known mods that globally change AP, condition-to-accuracy modifiers, skill-to-damage modifiers, etc.
