1.5 introduced alot of new problems, including a .bsa list limitation
Disastrous if you have more then two DLC installed.
If you see red squares with a ! in it on people or stuff related to the DLC's, or hear no voices, say your thanks to this update.

If you installed 1.5, get the latest update. (upon writing that would be 1.7). I'm not kidding.
Zeta won't work anyway (or atleast it is rumored so) with 1.5. An extra reason lol.

I will disendorse this for this reason.
Love the idea though to have pages like these up.

I have got this update and apart from making mods that reskin items or change areas screw up, there's nothing wrong with it.

I installed it because apparently I needed to do so for the DLCs (specifically Broken Steel) to work, so maybe could someone clarify that?

Also if I reinstalled to revert to an earlier version, would I need to start the game again? Or are the saves backwards compatible with earlier versions?

    EDIT:
Nvm, I think I've got it sorted!
    simple fix really.

Just do that, I didn't even have to reinstall F3 or any of the DLCs, just change the load order in FOMM and run FO3masterupdate. ^^ fingers crossed it'll continue to work.

i red this in http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_patch_1.5 "# Playing with mods that place new objects in the game may cause the game to crash. (This is fixed by converting the .esp files into a .esm through an application like Fallout Mod Manager)
    # Saving the game with mods may cause the game to crash. (This too is fixed through the manner stated above)" Is this truth?

not sure if it is the patch or one of my mods, but I was working fine pre 1.4, now after patching to 1.5, I lockup on loading new areas. Screen changes to loading after entering a new area, it starts to load, screen goes black and stays there.

Rather annoying. I managed to get fallout stable if I turn off ALL mods, then I can load fine, but once I have them all on again, it locks up.

    annoying

    Crash after crash after crash!!

Crash on startup, crash within 5-10 mins. Oh yeah dont forget framrate freezes worse after the patch. (This was with my clean NON modded FO3 backup with version 1.4 patched, which I updated to 1.5 to try it out)

So I reverted back to 1.4 and walla no more crashes, no more major freeze lags...hmmm I guess I can start putting back my mods lol.

Yeah I wonder why 1.5 is bad for some while others it's not. Oh well I guess I'll stick with 1.4 for now.

I found a very useful solution. For me, I like using Live so I can get achievements. However, I still do crash. But I found that, if one starts to crash, using an older Fallout3.exe (make a duplicate of one that has not been patched to 1.5) temporarily may help. Start the game with it and save. Then revert back to the new .exe. I found that I could use the 1.5 version for about a day or two without crashes. When it starts crashing again, I just repeat. It works for me, so I'm pretty sure it would work for others. But who knows? Oh and this is with a very large variety of mods.

the major problems i've been running into with this patch are the ctds on saves, major chugging slowdown during non active moments, initial entry into vats takes about 5-10 seconds to load and has all targets at 0% have to exit and reenter vats to fix, and ctd's while trying to boot up the game. so far i haven't had any problems with my 30+ mods. though i have experienced the npcs with wrong skin textures and flying corpses

So to clarify when people say the 1.5 update will break mods, does that mean my mods will get corrupted and I'll have to reinstall them or do the mods just don't work properly?

I've been using 1.5 for a while and have experienced many issues mainly graphics and VATS issues. I had a mod installed 1-Day-Respawn and everything worked fine with update 1.4 but with update 1.5 I found that enemy NPCs wouldn't respawn even if I disabled the mod. I had to reinstall the 1-Day-Respawn mod I had and then some NPCs would respawn but not all. The wasteland actually became peaceful. You could walk right down the mall without getting shot at. I hope Bethesda releases a new update soon.

Also has anyone experienced a drop in FPS with update 1.5?

Can someone tell me how you check the version of patch that's already been applied? I'm getting CTDs and I'm trying to figure out what's causing them.
