About this mod

Arch-nemesis of the Tick, Chairface Chippendale, plots to perform the ultimate act of vandalism... Writing his name on the moon!

The Tick: CHA Moon v1.00

[DESCRIPTION]

Noticing that Nukaman made an excellent texture mod to bring the Tick into F3, (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=527), I decided that it was only fair to give his rival a chance as well.

Gaining possession of several extremely powerful lenses, and wanting his birthday to be a real night to remember, Chairface began carving his name into the moon. The Tick managed to stop Chairface, but not before he carved the letters C H A, leaving a permanent reminder to all who look up in the night sky that evil is just plain wrong.

[DETAILS]

Utilizing krzymar's hi-res moon textures (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=538), I made the appropriate edits to show Chairface's acts of vandalism on the moon. For those curious, these files have mipmaps, and have slightly altered shadow angles depending on the phase of the moon to give a nice sense of depth to the laser-carved letters. An added touch, that just screams quality. Honk if you love justice!

Krzmar's crescent moons are unchanged, as the letters are firmly within the darkened area of the moon, and I'd like to again thank him for his very nice hi-res moon textures. Good for you krzymar, good for you!

[INSTALLATION]

This is one of those simple texture replacement sort of deals, and as such you have to do the following steps:

1. Unzip contents of the archive into Fallout 3\Data\textures\sky folder. If you don't have such a folder, go ahead and make them. I won't tell!

2. If you haven't installed any texture mods yet, remember to change the fallout3.ini file in your My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3 folder so that bInvalidateOlderFiles=1, instead of 0. The reason there is a b in front of the variable is because Bethesda's keyboards were sticky. Yes, all of them.

3. In the fallout 3 directory, edit your archiveinvalidation.txt file to add the following paths:

textures/sky/masser_full.dds
textures/sky/masser_half_wan.dds
textures/sky/masser_half_wax.dds
textures/sky/masser_one_wan.dds
textures/sky/masser_one_wax.dds
textures/sky/masser_three_wan.dds
textures/sky/masser_three_wax.dds
textures/sky/skymoonfull.dds

4. Start game, and shake your fist at the moon, to show it who is the boss! Take that, you luminescent orb in the sky!

[UNINSTALLATION]

1. Decide if you are REALLY sure you want to uninstall. Go on, I'll wait.

2. Absolutely sure?

3. Positive?

4. FINE. SEE IF I CARE.

5. Delete the following files, as well as remove them from archiveinvalidation.txt

textures/sky/masser_full.dds
textures/sky/masser_half_wan.dds
textures/sky/masser_half_wax.dds
textures/sky/masser_one_wan.dds
textures/sky/masser_one_wax.dds
textures/sky/masser_three_wan.dds
textures/sky/masser_three_wax.dds
textures/sky/skymoonfull.dds

6. Come to terms with the fact that you are a bad person, who hates justice and probably smells yucky.

[VERSION STUFF]

Version 1.00. Future versions will appear if people have strange problems, assuming they are with the mod and not just personal problems that I am unable to deal with.

There is a slight possibility that I might make a version with the C removed and a bite missing from the moon, but I figure that'll be a little too distracting / difficult to make look authentic. What does the inside of a moon look like anyway? Does it have a nougat center? Questions to be answered in Fallout 4, I figure.
