Charisma Counts allows the player to reruit multiple followers based on their Charisma SPECIAL stat.

As in Fallout 2, a player may recruit a number of followers equal to half his Charisma score (rounded down). This means that a player may have a limit of 0-5 followers at a time. Dogmeat has been changed to count against this total, rather than being a separate category of follower.
Charisma Counts is not compatible with any other mod that alters or replaces companion scripts, although it should be compatible with cosmetic changes. It is compatible with existing saved games, but any followers already acquired will not count aginst your total.
In the current beta release, temporary bonuses (such as from chems or items) will affect the follower cap, which is only checked when the player attempts to recruit a new follower. One problem inherent to the mod is the small number of available followers, with only 8 in the official release of the game, 6 of which are restricted by karma. I plan to address this problem in future releases by lifting the hard restrictions on karma for recruiting or by simply adding more followers.

* Corrected Dogmeat hiring scripts. Players who already have their maximum number of followers will no longer be able to recruit Dogmeat.
* Changed "You may only have one follower" error message to something more appropriate.
