For those of you that have installed the mod using NMM, and are experiencing the chameleon-like texture issues I will try to explain what worked for me.
1. Navigate to your Data folder in Fallout 3. 2. You should see a High Res and Low Res folder, pick one of the two to use and open that folder. 3. Inside there is a folder called textures. 4. Open the textures folder and find the folder weapons in it. Move this folder into the Textures folder inside your Fallout 3 data folder.
Thats it for the Textures now for the RH Ironsights fix.
1. Open FO3Edit find the file fnfalv5.esp open that and find the weapons click on +. 2. Navigate each weapon and find '' Don't use 1st person IS '' on the right side and remove it.
That should do it!
NOTE: Download FNVALV5 not FNFALV58 because the auto firing animation in FNFALV58 is bugged. Also remove autofire for the FN FAL in FO3Edit. If you want to balance the FN FAL damage because it's semi auto just change the damage in FO3Edit.
I used the console commands to test it, but when I fired it, it would shoot, then suddenly stop, the animation would play, but nothing would fire, then it would continue again randomly.
I tested between both first person and third person, it happened in both animations, but seemed more likely in third person, but that might have just been random.
It may have been incompatable with the select fire mod I had, because it only showed options for burst and auto, but not for single.
Not complaining or anything, just letting you know.
the texture is really messed up for me it like flickers back and forth between different textures can someone help please? archive invalidation is on and I downloaded it throught the mod manager
I was wondering about that myself; and though FO3 somehow loads the nif, I figure it can't be good for the game's stability. I ended up reusing the FAL mesh, lengthening the barrel and flash hider in Blender and applying the L1A1's wood-furniture texture to the new model, so I avoided having to redo the UV map. In my case, I decided to keep the FAL foregrip's slots and removed the holes in the L1A1's dds.
[epic bump] Dear LORD what the hell did you do to that L1A1's nif?! It was so damaged (as far as nifskope was concerned) that I went and found the original source on Gamebanana and ported it again (decompile, repair all the UV maps etc) rather than try and fix that mess. The game reads it fine too, which I find hilarious as either it's copy protection and you forgot half your models or you're very gifted at insanity.
I know you'll never read this as you haven't visited the site for six months, but still I think this needs to stand testament on the forums. It was easier to port the weapon again and spend several hours fixing the UV maps than it was to fix the L1A1 nif.
