“It’s been almost a year since it happened. The explosion, the evacuation, the quarantine, the memories are all still as fresh in my mind as if it had only been yesterday, yet it feels like lifetimes ago. I know I’ll never forget it. That was the day the word impossible lost its meaning.
Now known as the Event, on August 12th 2010, something exploded in the center of town. When it was over we realized the whole town had sunk about several feet into the ground. The investigation we launched discovered that the buildings in the center hadn’t been damaged in the blast, but had decayed, as if over years of abandonment. But it didn’t stop there. Less then two hours later all the roads suddenly fractured, and an hour after that all the power lines overloaded and snapped, one by one. It didn’t take long for the military to show up. They said they were just moving everyone somewhere safe but I didn’t buy it. I don’t know how I knew, but somehow I could tell that when the news agencies reported on the story, they were going to say no one had survived. So I hid. I still don’t know what happened to the others, I may have been right, I don’t know. I wasn’t the only suspicious one though. A few others stayed behind too. Some have been found but most are still out there, hiding in the Remnant, what we call all that’s left of town.
It isn’t an easy place to live, and none of us do so by choice. Not to long after the Event, even stranger things started happening. We found balls of light that scramble your insides, beams of energy that tear you to pieces, places that mess with your head, and more. Food is scarce, wild animals and worse are everywhere, and the military is constantly keeping an eye on the town and a gun on everything they find there, making escape so far impossible.
If you can hear this broadcast, spread the word about this place. People need to know what’s happening here. And if you’re a newcomer listening to this on the inside, then there are a few things you need to learn:
Your only goal: escape.
Your only rule: don't die.
Your only ally: yourself.
Your only advice: don’t bother trying to live, prepare to survive.”

***IMPORTANT: STILL IN ALPHA***
Grey Sky is an open world shooter inspired by GSC Gameworld’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. You explore the abandoned town of Clear Fortune, as you attempt to avoid the military presence there, figure out what caused the strange explosion in the center of town one year ago, and most of all, survive. Grey Sky implements many new gameplay features original to Fallout 3, including a new system of bleeding damage, a need to eat and sleep, an immersive HUDless health display, bizarre spatial anomalies, and a Commentary Mode system like the one found in Valve’s The Orange Box.

I don’t know if this is caused by the mod, but the game crashes every few startups or so. As I started work on this file almost as soon as I got it installed on my new machine I have no idea if it would still be doing this or not if the mod wasn’t present.
There also appear to be some texture errors in the town worldspace. I haven't identified the cause yet, but I'm working on it. Usually they go away after a little bit.
Please report any bugs you happen to come across.

Time to pass out the praise, so here goes: Interplay and Black Isle for making the original Fallouts, Bethesda for bringing them back and continuing their excellent tradition of mod support, GSC Gameworld for showing us how awesome Chernobyl can be when you don’t actually have to live there, which in turn inspired this, and all you out there who took the time to be interested in the project. Good luck out there in the Remnant, and do try not to get blood everywhere.
