    Simply an OUTSTANDING mod and
Amazing that it doesn't require FOSE to work!

    Thank you DreadChaos

This is a great mod. I'm having fun using both FWE and MMM with it. However... When i tell dogmeat to "find armaments", if one isn't nearby he'll autotalk to me and not search for something to give, even if i ask him again. The ammo, misc, and chem/food searches work though, but he hangs if asked to find ammo/chems/food, now and then. It's nice he takes items literally anywhere in the world, but it's a bit sad i can't ask him to find anything specifically instead of just a group of things.

If the mod creator came back to update this, it'd be nice if i could give more specifics on what i want him to find.

I want this to work with Phalanx so bad. The fact that it doesnt is rather ironic, given that the author lists Phalanx as an inspiration.

Good mod, I recommend it regardless.

This mod would be even more awesome if someone were to integrate it with the Dogmeat Leather Armor mod.

Nor does he search while I'm in sneak mode. He stays still till I stand up.

Awesome mod. Odd thing, though: Dogmeat doesn't come when I whistle if I'm in sneak mode. Intentional?

Very useful mod, in theory, but doesn't work well enough, in my opinion: I set Dogmeat to the 'stealth' tactic ("Heel"), but he still wanders around way too much, attacking enemies when I'm still hiding, and ultimately getting himself killed. The only tactic even more defensive (ordering him to avoid fights) means he runs away all the time. Too bad, would have loved this mod if there would have been a real 'heel' tactic option.

Dogmeat's 'heel' option, does it really work?

Well, I checked Dogmeat's 'heel' option, and it seems to be configured correctly by this mod, thing is, the way FO3 handles threat ratios (when comparing the 'Confidence' value between Dogmeat and enemies) will still make him attack some enemies from time to time, so it's a problem of the game, not this mod. When the 'heel' option is selected Dogmeat:

    - Gets his Confidence value set to 2 (2 means Average: will avoid/flee from threats that are stronger than him).
    - Gets his Aggresion value set to 0 (0 means Unaggressive: will not initiate combat).
    - Gets the 'Invisibility' actor value set to 1 on him (Invisibility: if nonzero, the actor is completely invisible).

    - Gets the 'Chameleon' actor value set to 100 on him (Chameleon: 0-100, percentage of invisibility).
So it *should* work. What may be causing troubles are two things I think:

1st) His Confidence value states he 'will avoid/flee from threats that are stronger than him', that means that if he sees an enemy (like a radroach) that is weaker than him, he *will* attack.

2nd) The Broken Steel bug (check Notes here): this is a well known bug that happens if you have Broken Steel installed + you have already found Dogmeat + you didn't have the UPDATED Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch mod installed PRIOR to founding Dogmeat for the first time. The bug makes Dogmeat level up with the player, gaining hundreds of hit point everytime you level up, to a maximum of 15000 hit point at level 30. Originally he *wasn't* supposed to level up, and he was supposed to have 500 total hit point. What this means is that if his Confidence was set to 2 by the 'heel' option, he would only attack enemies that are weaker than him..... but if he has 15000 hit points and is level 30 he will consider himself tougher than almost every enemy out there! (and he will effectively *be* tougher than them, rendering the 'heel' option irrelevant).

    How to fix this?

If Dogmeat has already been affected by the broken steel bug, I think you are out of luck, but you may as well try this anyway. If you had the UPDATED UF3P mod installed prior to meeting Dogmeat, you should be safe, you don't need to do the 1st step, and the 2nd step is optional, do it only if you want to.

1st) Open Dread Dogmeat.esp in the GECK, and make sure his Stats are set to:

    - Level: 5
    - PC Level Mult: unchecked
    - Hit Points: 500

That *should* make the 'heel' option evaluate Dogmeat's packages correctly, but I guess this only applies for when you meet him for the first time (and from then on). This is actually your best change to fix this problem: avoiding it in the first place.

2nd) This is optional, it 'may' help, but it's up to you. You can change his Confidence value in the 'heel' option. Open the Dogmeat character in the GECK (his Editor ID is FFEU255Dogmeat), open his Dialogue tree, and look for the DogmeatTacticsHeel topic. Look for the Result Script (Begin) and click Edit. Change his Confidence value to 1 or to Cero:

    - Change from: DogmeatREF.setAv Confidence 2
      to:   DogmeatREF.setAv Confidence 1

1 (one) means 'Cautious: will avoid/flee from threats unless he is stronger than them'.

    - OR change from: DogmeatREF.setAv Confidence 2
    to: DogmeatREF.setAv Confidence 0

0 (cero) means 'Cowardly: will always avoid/flee. Cowardly actors NEVER engage in combat under any circumstances'.

The first one will have sort of the same effect actually, Dogmeat will attack if HE is stronger than an enemy... which will still mean the same problem if you are already affected by the broken steel 15000 hit points bug.
The second one will make him avoid and/or flee from enemies... not the best option I guess... but at least he won't blow your cover while sneaking (unless he just happens to flee into a room full of new enemies).

    3rd) Save and exit.

Anyway, the rest of the 'tactics' options are also ok, they are set to correct values of confidence and agression, so they should work as intended. If they don't.... blame Bethesda honestly. xD

Hope this helps someone out there. Btw, you can check all the Confidence and Aggression levels here and here if you are curious, and also the Invisibility and Chameleon actor values here.

    Helpful Tip:

If, for some reason, Dogmeat gets lots, stuck, or disappears without a trace, you can use the console to make him appear next to you.

    1st) Open the console.
2nd) Type: prid 6a775 and hit Enter (Dogmeat name and reference should appear at the top of the screen).
3rd) Type: moveto player and hit Enter.
4th) Close the console. Dogmeat should be standing right next to you.

DO NOT use the placeatme command, if I remember correctly that will create a copy/clone of Dogmeat and put it next to you, instead of moving the 'real' Dogmeat.

I think it's clear this is an abandoned mod, so no sense in requesting any support.
