About this mod

A video tutorial that will help you to get your 3D model from Blender to Fallout 3.

Permissions and credits
UPDATE 2: I have now completed another tutorial on export and import, but more focused on object animation, you can get it here.

UPDATE: Miaximus have now completed a very detailed guide based on the video tutorials by me and Echonite.
Please check out his thread at Bethsoft here as this video tutorial and his written guide combined will undoubtedly be very helpful for you when converting an object to Blender!

This is a video tutorial that will go through the process of making a mesh in Blender, make a collision mesh, UV-mapping, simple texturing (GIMP) and painting (Blender), make a working NIF file with Nifskope, glow map, and how to use your models in Geck.

Part 2
Part 3

You should have somewhat basic Blender and NifSkope knowledge to gain the most out of it, although I have shown most of the hotkeys I have used.

Please note that it doesn't have any background sound, but for now, just play some of your favorite music in the background if you can't handle the silence.

Some notes:
===========
When making a UV-Map, imagine that your model is a piece of paper in front of you. You're holding a pair of scissors in your hand, and want to make the model completely flat to the ground. Back in Blender, when you are making the seams, make the seams at the same places that you cut the paper object.
Please read the Blender:n00b to pro pages to learn how to use Blender - http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro
And check out Echonite's video tutorials for blender to learn more on how to use the powerful but complex 3D package:

If you have your own models, just wait until I start to make materials, and instead of making new textures, use your existing textures.

Final words
===========
Keep in mind that I am not saying that this is the best or only way to do import a model into GECK, it is just the approach that works best for me.

I would like to thank all of the people behind Blender, the Blender NIF Scripts and NifSkope, working behind the scenes so people like me can enjoy their products!
Also thanks to everyone that have written tutorials and guides that inspired me to do this.
