About this mod

Like the Original Modular Laser mod, this has a special laser weapon that can switch between sniping modes, assault mode, and close combat mode, as well as the original form of the weapon (the most economic of the other modes).

REQUIRES Fallout Script Extender

NOTE to FLAMERS
===============
THIS IS ALPHA STAGES. If it doesn't work for you, tough. It's not intended to be completely flawless at this point as we are working through problems and experimenting with this mod with FOSE. I take no responsibility in it breaking your game, as I am warning you now, this is the ALPHA version. Oh and comments like "it sucks," and "this is stupid," does not qualify as constructive criticism so try to keep thoughtlessness or lack of community commenting etiquette to a minimum. They don't help anybody. n_n

Terms of Use
============
Not Originally mine and I claim no rights to this Mod as it is originally authored by Army L; modified by me to try and solve some issues from his original mod, so look up his. Thank you.

Description
===========
I'm uploading this so Army L can have a look at the scripting and can go further with the current Modelaser he originally released. However, it would be beneficial for the community to have a look at this (scripting wise), as I have simply endeaver to make it work, but it has a lot of flaws and needs work... which is why it is in alpha stages.

Like the Original Modular Laser mod, this has a special laser weapon that can switch between sniping modes, assault mode, and close combat mode, as well as the original form of the weapon (the most economic of the other modes).

Instructions
============
Current Location is the same as the original ModeLaser. It is found in the womens restroom in Megaton.

The first time the 'modkit' is picked up, it should add a weapon in the inventory of the player. Pressing on the modkit in the inventory allows for the weapon to change its functions.

There are 4 modes in total, a sniper mode, assault mode, and a close combat mode. The fourth returns the weapon stats to its original (hopefully). Using scripting to modifiy the weapon itself instead of replacing it with another gun (this got rid of the infinite weapon health problem and the dropped hotkeying). I haven't ironed out all the details as I am still experimenting with the scripting to see what is possible... so those experienced in scripting, please have a look at the mod and tell me what will further the scripting and enable this mod to run streamlined.

Installation
============
place the ModeLaserFose.esp to the data folder.

for uninstallation, delete ModeLaserFose.esp as it should not harbor any problems. But to be on the safe side, drop the laser, move to a different cell and save. Then delete.

Known Issues
============
Not game breaking, but whenever it switches weapons, it seems to take off all equipment.

Also, I am not absolutely positive that when the weapon is changing modes, that it actually changes all values properly.

Future Plans
============

At some point, I would like this modkit to actually be something else other than a weapon, but for now, I'm trying to iron out the kinks.

One potential way to enable this mod to work well would be the use of perks... added onto the player when equipped and removed when unequipped. Thus altering the behavior of the weapon when equipped by the player (at least it takes the load of all the changes the script has to do to the weapon itself). HOWEVER, I know for a fact that using perks can be tricky especially on removal of the mod and loading a saved game (as perks tend to be glitchy in this aspect).

Also, if this DOES work well, it has the potential (I think it does) to have a modkit that can modify any weapon (I'm not making any promises though), but that requires a lot of experience and know-how in scripting for it to work... so its a long way from there.
