About this mod

Attempt to introduce a weapon which would feel like real world snubnose rimfire plinker wheelguns.

Permissions and credits
Added an alternative esp file, where the gun is no longer unique, is renamed to 5mm Revolver, drops from raiders, should be in NPC and Wastelanders inventories, found in loot and bought from vendors.
It's repaired with other 5mm Revolvers, not .32 pistols.

Note: to install this, just move the RimfireRevolverCommon file to your Data directory - do not remove mesh used in the unique mod. You can in theory use both mods together but I didn't test it and it was not intended to be used like this, so I recommend to use either one or the other.

=====================================================

Version 2.1 - you can now find the gun also in Graydish, Brandice's toolbox.

=====================================================

I finished the model for the weapon. The mesh is modified 44 unscoped magnum. I reduced the barrel length, shortened the front sight area and shrung the overall model to 70% size.

INSTALLATION: copy the RimfireRevolver.esp into your Data folder, and Snubbie.nif into Data\meshes\weapons\1HandPistol - and when starting the game check RimfireRevolver in Game Data.

KNOWN BUG - since I'm still a total nubi in nifscope tinkering, the handhold is wrong, it's too high. I was not able to find how to modify it in the nif file. Hopefully you can survive.:)

Oh and one more thing, the real guns have typically 8 - 9 round capacity. Since I was not able to modify the cylinder and speedloader yet, the capacity is set to 6 for this version.
Enjoy. :)

I tried to make something which would work like .22LR "airlite" pocket snubbies, say S&W 317 or Taurus 94.

Gun nut foreword:
Weapons like this share following characteristics - they are light, small, and very easy to handle. Even a recoil sensitive newbie shooters have very little problems to empty such a gun into a human head sized target at, say, some 5 yards, and very quickly, too. And if you bother to aim, these little sixguns are very, very accurate.
Another good news is the ammo. Very avoidable and very cheap. You can buy it in heaps, waste it in heaps and still your vallet stays pretty fat and happy.

Now some drawbacks - for a self defence, this ammo is not "da best stuff" around. It would kill things, even people, but to stop something you have to aim and hit carefully the spots where it counts, simply put, you really gotta shoot 'em in the head. :)

How this projects into vanilla game terms:
- the ammo is obviously 5mm. Everywhere available in large quantities and as cheap as possible, too.
- very light (1 pound fits the real gun's weight)
- highly accurate, spread 0.3 to 0, and 50 in VATS.
- very fast (15 AP only in VATS, delay 0.3).
- low damage (5 HP).
- and finally high criticals (15 HP, 4 multiplier, like Stabhappy knife for example).

Testing results:
if you go for headshots, there is a quite good chance you will score critical and the target will go down. You will fire very fast, too.

At the early levels, it would work good enough so you can shoot your way out of the Vault 101 instead of beating thighs into crap with a baseball bat. Also it will help you out of the ammo availability crisis in early game. It will kill raiders, molerats, radroaches and dogs nicely. But don't expect that kill Supermutant Masters with be a breeze, thought. They will fall eventually but it will take some time.

Later, it will serve as your backup gun for pest control. If you don't want to waste your valuable main weapon ammo on ghouls, radroaches, or molerats, keep this snubbie in your inventory. It weight only one pound, anyway.

Location: can be found in your drawer in Vault 101 just after Amata wakes you up and tells you you have to run, together with 200 pieces of ammo. You can cheat it into your inventory later, too, the code is, as usual, 0x000EA7, where x stands for the mod's nuber. To make it easy make just this mod active and then the code will be 01000EA7.

Final note: since I know nothing about 3D modelling and texturing, I used normal .32 revolver graphics. I might to try later, since I want to create a Glock 20 anyway, but for the time being please survive with the model as it is.
Have a nice plinking. :)
