Update 2009-02-11
+ uploaded my new MSG90 mesh and texture (exchaned with the old one)
----------------------------------
Update 2009-02-05
Due to reports of crashes while having the new Perk, I reworked the script a bit. During my recent test runs (played around 4 hrs today) not a single crash occured. Nevertheless I added the option to "untrain" the perk, just talk to the chief again (so you don't need to use the console anymore).
Also the Perk itself has now two steps:
If the player has 15% or less health, the chance to trigger at all is 85%, then there is another roll with 40% chance per Merc (therefore it might happen that the perk triggers but none of the mercs is beeing spawned)
With player health above 15%, the chances are 20% at all and then 30% per merc.
The perk can only trigger once while in combat and earliest 20 seconds later in the next combat situation.
----------------------------------
Update 2009-02-03
+ modified the texture of the G36, it has now a reflecting scope like the vanilla sniper rifle
+ fixed the bug where the Mercs stopped moving during traveling (at least it didn't occure during my test runs anymore)
+ fixed a typo in the quest dialoges
+ added an new "mouth only" Mask for McBootyB (see new screenshot; itemcode: xxFF3AC5)
----------------------------------
Update 2009-02-02
+ uploaded my new G36 mesh and texture (exchaned with the old one)
----------------------------------
Update 2009-01-30
+ added a new black mask as requested (see new screenshot; itemcode: xxFF3AC4)
+ added a new helmet in Bundeswehr desert camo design (see new screenshot; itemcode: xxFC54D4)
+ added a new mask in Bundeswehr desert camo design (see new screenshot; itemcode: xxFF3AC3)
+ Added the weapons to Lucky Harith' vendor list and the Armor sets (wood and desert) to Crow's vendor list (100% trigger after talking to the mercs for the first time, else the stuff might appear with a lower chance)
+ Greatly decreased the chance for the new perk gettin triggered
+ Equipped leveled Talon Mercs (lvl 12+) with the G36 and MSG90 (not tested yet)
+ Changed texture of the MSG90 (I still don't like it, so I will keep working on that)
----------------------------------
Update 2009-01-29
+ added some scripted events during the quest (while moving with the mercs to their destination)
+ added a new variant of the combat armor in Bundeswehr desert camo design to the rewards (itemcode: xx73CFF5). Helm and mask might follow
+ increased the reward for the last quest step
+ fixed a minor dialog bug
----------------------------------
Update 2009-01-27
+ added a new helmet in "Tarnfleck" design to the rewards(see new screenshots; itemcode: xxFC54D3)
+ added a new mask in "Tarnfleck" design to the rewards (see new screenshots; itemcode: xxFF3AC2)
+ added new quest steps (I recommend to follow the mercs to their destination, it's fun to explore the wastes in a squad ;)) Don't know why, but sometimes the squad stops moving, in that case just press T and rest for an hour.
+ added a new perk:
works similar to the "Mysterious Stranger" perk
NPCs will spawn into combat to assist you, this can be max. 3 different NPCs at the same time (everyone with a certain percentage and at a certain percentage at all)
----------------------------------
Update 2009-01-20
+ fixed shadows and reflection on both guns
----------------------------------
Update 2009-01-17
+ Cleared the .esp and removed the vanilla scripts to improve compatiblity (as reported by karstux)
+ Added unique sound effect for both guns (Thanks to CrazyAce for files and tutorial)
+ Added an additional trigger in Paradise Falls
----------------------------------

Old video:

This Mod adds a new quest north of Paradise Falls (location see screenshots). The weapons and armor are complete new items, no vanilla replacements.

I uploaded this file originaly in the beginning of January but just deleted it by mistake... So a few people might know this and the recent progress.
Nevertheless this is my first attempt to use the tools and mod a game at all.
The itemcodes are edited with FO3Edit, therefore I don't think that the items will interfer with other existing mods:
Armor with german Tarnfleck pattern ->Kampfpanzerung: 0173CFF4
Sniperrifle ->HK MSG 90: 017FB690
Assault Rifle ->HK Gewehr 36: 01A9F536
Note: the first two numbers (01xxxxxx) depend on the load order of your mods.

I will also add a little video to YouTube in the next days as this has been asked for in the former thread.
Edit: Video is up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kJl6MDUwXs

To use this, just extract the .rar file to your Fallout 3 directory. Also I recommend to use fomm (Fallout Mod Manager).

Future plans:
=============
+ new mags for both guns
+ improvement of textures (this are just the first versions)
+ overall improvement of the meshes
+ maybe more quests with the new faction used for the quest
=============
I will keep working at this. Any opinions, help and bug reports are most welcome.
If anyone wants to teach a beginner (especialy in texturing), I'm your prey :P
