WARNING! Make a backup save before using this mod due to respawning containers!! You may lose your stashed items!
:: Respawning containers ::
This mod makes a lot of loot containers respawn, overhauling the way the base game works. This can be an issue if you like making your player home/stash in random places. Be warned: if you use this mod and are stashing your gear outside of megaton or tenpenny player homes, you may lose your stash! This also applies to modded player homes, bc I can't guarantee the respective mod author didn't use loot containers in the player home. If you are a mod savvy individual and want to use a modded home along with this mod, I recommend you go to your home cell and replace the containers with new containers (double click the containers, edit the base objects, and rename the container id and ensure the container has respawn ticked off)
:: Install ::
Extract the zip file contents into your Fallout 3 Data directory. Enable the mod in mod manager.
:: How does it work ::
This mod adds a long list of leveled items which can be found in a variety of ways.
- Looting: There is a small chance to find a more powerful item via containers. Not all containers have a chance to spawn an item, and not all containers have the same spawn rates. (safes are generally the best) For aid items, look in medical boxes. For grenades and weapon repair kits, look in ammo boxes.
- Buying: Vendors throughout the wasteland may sell these items. There is a chance they can have 1-3 powerful items spawn in their inventory. These items can be very expensive, so save those caps!
- Killing enemies: Some enemies have a chance to spawn a powerful items from a subset when they die.
:: Item Properties ::
Items spawn in different tiers depending on your level. The items start spawning at level 10 with weaker items appearing first and stronger items appearing later. EG: level 10 player may find a tier 2 knife, tier 2 tire iron, etc... A level 30 player has a chance to find all the previous weaker items, but also the most powerful items like the tier 5 Missile Launcher, tier 5 T51 b armor, etc...
Generally weapons and armor gain more power, durability, value, reduced weight, and max ammo per tier. Weapons can have other properties added if applicable (EG: snipers get even more crit damage, etc...)
Aid items become more powerful per tier and have a reduced chance of addiction (if applicable) These are a bit more common due to them being expendable.
Grenades and mines are more powerful and may have a larger explosion radius per tier. These are a bit more common due to them being expendable.
Serums grant perks when used. They can be bought from doctor for a high price. Each serum can be used multiple times to improve the effects, up to five ranks. EG Mule Serum -> Level 1 = 50 extra carry weight, Level 2 = 100 extra carry weight, ... Level 5 = 250 extra carry weight. There are serums for a variety of things like increased damage, crit rate, ap, health regen, etc... But they are expensive so it won't be easy to get a lot of them.
:: FAQ ::
Q: I can't find any new items. Is there a bug with the mod?
A: You are probably not high enough level to find the items. Also note the items are rare unless you try and buy one from a vendor.
Q: Does this mod work with X mod?
A: I have no idea.
Q: Can you make this mod work with X/Y/Z mod
A: I will not.
Q: I like using X location as a player home, can you fix the mod so it doesn't mess up my stashes?
A: No bc there is no place for me to draw the line for these kinds of requests. At some point, every place can be a player home and every container should not respawn; which is destroys a feature of my mod I find valuable. If this bothers you, please fix it yourself in the esp. Its actually a very easy thing to do, even if you are not a modder.
I hope this mod gives you incentive to continue playing Fallout 3, enjoy!
