About this mod
Simple esp. that removes the vast majority of the Small Guns added by the FWE mod (as well as their various different ammo types) from levelled lists, effectively removing them from the Wasteland. No more op raiders 1 or 2-shotting you with an automatic shotgun.

Having spent a good amount of time scouring the internet looking for a mod to remove these weapons from the game, I eventually came upon this thread and decided to try modding the file myself. At first I tried deleting the files for the weapons but that caused a lot of issues for my save file, so instead I simply removed the vast majority of the new guns from levelled lists and that did the trick.
This esp. I've made simply removes the majority of the new guns, and the new ammo types, from Fallout 3's levelled lists, meaning that they won't spawn in the inventories of various NPCs. The weapons are still technically in the game files, so this mod won't break any saves. I have also played for several hours with the mod enabled and found that none of the NPCs I encountered had any of the weapons I removed, so it seems to work for me, at least (still, I've never edited esp. or esm. files before, so I might have missed something).
I haven't removed the Pipe Rifle or the Widowmaker from the levelled lists, since I felt they were well balanced and fit into the world and atmosphere of Fallout 3 without issue. Also, this mod doesn't remove any of the new items in the other classifications of weapon, such as energy weapons and melee weapons.
Instructions of installation and use:
- Just download the esp. and install it into your Fallout 3 Data directory, or alternatively use a Mod Manager, and make sure that the esp. is overriding all the FWE esp. and esm. files.
- If you start a New Game, there shouldn't be any new guns from the start, but if you load a save file, then wait a few in-game days for the world to refresh.
Thanks and Credits:
- Thank you to Peekaboom and the FWE team for creating such an awesome mod to begin with.
- Thank you to vforvic for their detailed description on how to modify files in the G.E.C.K.
- And of course thank you to Bethesda for the game in the first place.
