About this mod

The fourth incarnation of Werne's Mosin with new textures and sound.

Permissions and credits
Werne made this rifle ten years ago, the mesh and hand positioning were sound but textures were basic. luthien21 redid the textures in his Mosin Nagant V2, then 0001cf73 made a unique version called Caroline. Now here I am with my version, in my opinion a really solid weapon mod that builds off of all our work.

Now I'm not exactly Millenia but I do have many years experience messing around with Bethesda games and my grungy art style generally fits well in Fallout games. The textures have been completely redone to the best of my ability, some parts are still reused so I couldn't add shadows to the normal map how I would have liked but it looks pretty good now. Forgive my ignorance when it comes to firearms but the model does not scream Mosin at me, it looks like a generic bolt-action rifle so that's what I called it. Due to my lack of talent I also scrapped the scopeless version as it had no ADS functionality, so you just get the scoped variant. I'll avoid boring you with the many tweaks I made but it was a lot, the weapon is now chambered in .308 and sits somewhere between the hunting and sniper rifles. It does six points less damage than the sniper rifle but has much more durability and has been added to raider leveled lists, has a nice punchy custom sound and 1k textures. Bolt-Action Rifles should begin spawning on Raiders around level five.

I originally began making this as a unique weapon for a companion but she has a different weapon referenced in a script I can't change, and it turned out so well I thought I'd release it standalone. I certainly learned a lot working on this and had fun in the process, hope Werne's old mod gets in more peoples games as a result.

Once again thanks and credit to Werne for the original mod, luthien21 and 0001cf73 for their work, and Spartans627 for the sound which I altered with Audacity.
