----------Introduction----------
Chugged your last Nuka Cola? Just happen to run out of stimpacks or food in the midst of battle? Is the carnivore in you afraid that meat will run out and you'll be forced to survive on a dreaded meat-less diet? Now with this perk, you can get meat from any slain lifeform in the Wastelands. And with ten different types of meat, you won't be growing sick of your all-meat diet anytime soon. If you're lucky in your butchering, you'll even be able to preserve their savory essences.
----------Detailed Description----------
Best if used with increased-difficulty mods (such as MMMF3 - Increased Spawns), since in vanilla FO3 this will be imbalanced.
Adds a new perk (available at level 1) which spawns a Butcher Knife to your inventory which is equipable and hotkeyable (but not the best weapon to use in a fight because it has a base damage of 1). To butcher, simply equip the knife and strike a dead lifeform; this will not work if the target has been blown to smithereens. The five basic meats (which are all edible, droppable, and sellable) and their effects are the following:
(amount of meat) Meat Name: +HP, +Rads
(1) Insect Meat: +17 HP, +3 Rads
(1-2) Animal Meat: +33 HP, +7 Rads
(1) Ghoul Meat: +66 HP, +33 Rads
(4) Super Mutant Meat: +106 HP, +26 Rads
(2) Human Meat: +50 HP, +7 Rads
If you're lucky in your attempts, you'll be able to obtain the following five rarer meats:
(amount of meat) Meat Name: +HP, +Rads, 3 minute effects
(1) Meat Infused with Insect Essence: +17 HP, +3 Rads, +15% accuracy, -50% gun spread
(1-2) Meat Infused with Animal Essence: +33 HP, +7 Rads, -25% chance of being hit with critical
(1) Meat Infused with Ghoul Essence: +66 HP, +33 Rads, +25% damage, -25% radiation from drinking irradiated water
(4) Meat Infused with Super Mutant Essence: +106 HP, +26 Rads, -10% limb damage taken, +20% max carry weight
(2) Meat Infused with Human Essence: +50 HP, +7 Rads, +10% XP, +10% price reduction from vendors
----------Known Conflicts and Errors----------
There are no known conflicts with other mods, as it does not edit any pre-existing entries but creates a load of new ones.
Because I didn't play past the Enclave quest with this mod, I do not know if the Butcher Knife will remain with you. Just to be safe, I'll provide the item ID here (replace the XX with your active plugin form ID):
XX00CFAF
Each corpse can be 'harvested' an unlimited amount of times as long as the torso is intact. I had wanted to use the Cannibalism tag for marking bodies, but that would require the player to sit through ~10 seconds of animation just to gather 1-5 pieces of meat. Another option was to add another effect on the weapon which would delete its target after harvesting, but then packrats (including myself) would be unhappy if we struck the corpse by accident. As it stands, you get unlimited amounts of meat, but it's your choice to abuse it.

----------Installing----------
Place the .esp in "Fallout3/Data" and load it up in your launcher of choice. If you aren't using Fallout 3 Mod Installer, you can safely pretend that "FO3ModInfo.ini" doesn't exist.
----------Troubleshooting----------
If you experience a problem or have questions/suggestions, please leave a comment.
----------Uninstalling----------
As this is a perk-related mod, uninstalling it is far more complicated than simply removing the .esp:
1. Use a tool, such as Little Boy, to find out the form ID of "The Butcher.esp."
2. Write these down, replacing the XX with the first two digits of your form ID: "player.removeperk XX00154C" "player.removeitem XX00CFAF 1".
3. Start up Fallout 3 and load your most recent saved game.
4. Equip a weapon other than the Butcher Knife.
5. Toggle the console on using the tilde key (~), and type in what you wrote down for Step 2, pressing Enter after each command. If you get an error message, it didn't work.
6. Toggle the console off using the tilde key, save your game, and exit Fallout 3.
7. Deselect/Delete "The Butcher.esp" from your Data directory.
8. Load the saved game from Step 6, and continuing playing.
