Talk has spread quickly among the wasteland about a suspicious overpass running parallel to Arefu. During one quiet summer night, loud gunshots and screams of agony rang out from the area, only to fall silent just as quickly as whatever calamity occurred had started. To investigate seems to be a suicide mission at first, but regardless, you make a note of it in the back of your head.

A short adventure mod that adds new weapons, a descriptive backstory, and a new player home.

A big thanks to JkKILER to allow me to post this remastered version of his mod, The Overpass! This version by 924 Creative Works has been extensively reworked to bring the best experience possible to the Capital Wasteland, fixing numerous bugs and cleaning up massive amounts of errors that may have put a damper on what is honestly one of the better player home mods out there that needed polishing.

This updated version retains most of the original style of the opening quest, asking the player to rely on notes to discover the secrets that lie on this mysterious overpass.

I can not stress this enough; pay attention to the notes. You will likely be completely lost if you do not.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get the remastered version of this mod voiced. So that's just something we'll all have to live with for the time being!

INSTALLATION

Use your favorite mod manager to install the mod, or install manually.

NOTES

YOU MUST NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE OVERPASS INSTALLED ALONGSIDE THIS ONE. This updated version is completely incompatible with the original version and will cause loads of issues. Remove 'Overpass1.7.esp' from your load order should it be present.

There will be a version of this mod made for TTW 3.2 coming along shortly. Do not try to use the Fallout 3 version with TTW, it will only cause crashes.

While JkKILER is the original creator of The Overpass, he is not responsible for the upkeep of this remastered version. Contact JanitorDave with any issues you may have.

As with the original version, Fallout 3's DLC is not required. However, this late into the game's life span, there is no reason you shouldn't have the DLC installed, as many times as the Game of the Year Edition has gone on sale. That said, this mod does not require the DLC just in case.


CHANGELOG

- Removed hundreds of dirty edits that the GECK likes to drop in.
- Fixed numerous navmesh bugs. Completely remade all relevant interior navmeshes. This means that companions can now properly come onto the overpass with you. However, that said, I still do not recommend bringing your companions with you until you restore the overpass.
- Cleaned up spelling and grammar errors.
- Re-organized story structure to flow better.
- Wrote dozens of new dialogue lines for the guards/scientists, as well as gave them all new AI packages that breathe a little life into this desolate space.
- Changed dozens of editor IDs relating to this mod for organizational purposes.
- Removed dozens of errant spaces in location/item/container names.
- Bodies that were meant to show up in exterior cells no longer disappear.
- Fixed texture issues on Laser Rifle upgrades.
- Removed the automatic Ammo Sorter and Weapon Sorter from Jarrod's house. With all the different types of ammo/weapon mods out there now, they barely worked anyway. The relevant containers are still there for your convenience.
- Closed off and removed the lab secret entrance. Barely used anyway.
- Removed cars at the bottom of the overpass ramp due to issues with navmesh pathing.
