IMPORTANT NEWS:
It has come to my attention that on July 1st 2021 Metros Alive was removed from the Nexus.
I am not aware of any alternative  place to download Metros Alive at this time. So unless you previously downloaded it you will not be able to use any versions of this mod requiring Metros Alive
.

03-January-2022 Update 1.5.1
Very small update to fix an obnoxious bug that I somehow missed during my initial testing 2 years ago.
Anyway, in the quest "The Iron Price" there was a bug where it would keep displaying the quest objective over and over and over and over until the quest was complete. I think I might have used console commands to complete the quest back then, which is probably why I missed the bug.
Um anyway, this update fixes that.
For the AIO and ALT versions.

23-June-2021 Update 1.5:

The other day as a radroach was gnawing at my ankles I suddenly realized my life wasn't difficult enough.

So I've made a 4th version of this mod for masochists people who want a slightly rougher time of things.

In addition to all of the previous versions you will now find DC Subway Tweaks - ALT in the files section.
The new "ALT" version is a slightly modified version of the AIO Version of this mod.
New Tweaks for the "ALT" Version:
  • Metro Tickets from the base game are no longer used to ride the Subway Cars
  • The Metro Ticket item has been renamed "Pre-war Ticket"
  • The Metro Ticket item has had it's value changed to 10 caps
  • A new item the CWMA Ticket is now used to ride the subway. The price of tickets HAS NOT changed from the previous version.
  • The ability to trade pre-war tickets for CWMA tickets has been added at ticketing terminals.
  • Fixed a few typos.
  • Fixed a small bug that could cause both the discounted and non discounted caps menu to appear on some of the terminals after getting the discount card.

I made this change after realizing the standard metro tickets were more common than I remembered which I felt defeated the purpose of making the tickets so expensive.
In addition to purchasing them I've hand placed about 20 of the new tickets in random spots around the metro stations.

I've done some VERY BRIEF testing and everything should convert nicely from the AIO to the ALT version even if you've started one of the quests, but I can't 100% guarantee it will work so it's advisable to back up your saves before converting.

I'm also uploading a new version of the AIO version that includes the fixed typos and bug fix included in the ALT version.
If you've previously downloaded the AIO version a hotfix is also available.

That's it! The following is the original description.

DC SUBWAY TWEAKS:
A mod in three parts

DC Subway Tweaks is an add-on for the DC Subway mod with optional tweaks for Metros Alive and Tickets Please

Tweaks made to the main DC Subway mod:

  • Added ends to the tunnels so that the trains no longer appear to float in the void when they reach the end of the tracks. (See images)
  • Added room markers to the subway stations to improve performance.

Tweaks mad to Metros Alive:
  • Same tweaks made to DC Subway but slightly modified to better suit "Metros Alive."
Tweaks made to Tickets Please:
  • Increased ticket prices dramatically from 39 caps a ticket to 150 caps.
  • Increased the barter value of the metro ticket item from 1 cap (vanilla) to 20 caps.
  • Added the option to purchase a lifetime pass for the metro.
  • Added 3 voiced quest giving NPCs:
They can be found in Old Friendship Station, Old Takoma Station, and the Old Arlington Station Lobby (up the stairs) One of these quests gives you an opportunity to receive a discounted price on metro tickets and the lifetime pass.

Requirements:
  • All versions of this mod require DC Subways
  • The "Metros Alive" Version additionally requires Metros Alive (Currently unavailable)
  • The "All in One" (AIO) Version requires Tickets Please in addition to the other two mods ("Tickets Please" requires "Metros Alive" so there is no version for "Tickets Please" only.)
Compatibly:Should be compatible with pretty much everything since I really only made changes to the three mods mentioned. With two exceptions:
  • Anything the makes changes to the metro ticket item may revert the price of the metro ticket back to the default.
  • Any mod that edits the 3rd floor interior of Tenpenny Tower may cause issues with one of the quests. This is unlikely however as the mod would have to alter the interior space significantly.
