Description

Some people find the real-time combat killcam that was introduced in Fallout: New Vegas annoying. While it can be annoying on cinematic mode, I find the "player view" mode to be just perfect. Rather than zooming in on your downed enemy it simply applies a 3.5 second "slow-motion" effect to the game once all enemies in a group are downed. This very simple mod recreates that effect.

Customization
As of 1.1, the following can be customized:

  • Killcam Duration can be changed by typing "Set KCDuration To x" in console, where x is a decimal value in seconds. Default is 3.5.
  • Killcam Slowdown Multiplier can be changed by typing "Set KCTimeMultiplier To x" in console, where x is a decimal value of percentage to multiply time by. E.g. 0.5 would set the speed to 50% normal. Default 0.1. Yes, this technically means you can make the Killcam speed up the game, but I can not think of any Earthly reason you would want to.
  • Killcam Cooldown can be changed by typing "Set KCCooldown To x" in console, where x is a decimal value in seconds. Default is 20.

These may be changed to ini settings in the future.

Caveats

  • Does not take companion kills into account like New Vegas. However, I don't see that as a bad thing, because that can get particularly intrusive. This is just meant to add a little cinematic satisfaction to the game, nothing more.
  • If you kill an enemy from a group and then flee, once your status changes to [HIDDEN], the killcam effect will occur. There's nothing I can particularly do about that, but hopefully you won't be fleeing that many fights anyway. EDIT: Well, I may have thought of a way, but it's gonna take some work to implement and test and I feel lazy at the moment.
  • Actors that do not go hostile (i.e. their names don't turn red) will not trigger the Killcam.
  • One-shot kills will not trigger the Killcam.
