"You're not re-wiring the thing, just attaching the Pulse Charge to the detonator."
This mod is simple, it just edits the Megaton bomb's script to change the difficulty of disarming it to Explosives 50, arming it still only requires an Explosives of 25 and Mr. Burke's pulse charge.

Why would I use this?
Well for one because disarming a nuclear weapon shouldn't be an easy thing. Still if you want more I really think this mod provides a good moral challenge for the player. Before, making the good choice was as easy as making the bad choice making them an arbitrary pick down to just role-playing and maybe the meager caps offered. With this mod the good moral choice becomes a trial to go through to prove that the character is actually good, and for a more morally grey character it will tempt them to blow up the bomb even if they normally wouldn't simply for the larger benefit of early player housing that it offers.

If you look at the fiction it's also consistent: Simms makes a big deal about how difficult disarming the bomb is and how you should be careful, and Burke tells you arming it shouldn't be too difficult.

One thing I should note for players concerned about sleeping in Megaton early on if they use a needs mod: Megaton actually has a common house with open beds which you can sleep in free of charge.

File Choices:
I have recently added the "Megaton Morality 35" file to the additional files. This is for people who want a slightly less difficult check but still want it to be harder in this case setting the difficulty to Explosives 35 for disarming.

Installation Instructions:
Just drop in the data folder and tick the esp, or use any mod manager you feel comfortable with.

Conflicts and Bugs:
So far no issues have popped up in my testing, as for conflicts all this does is change one script, anything else that changes that script will cause a compatibility problem. If you want my changes and do have a mod that overwrites the script either place my mod later so it's effect ends up in the game or if it's more complicated than just that let me know and I'll look at making a patch.

Permissions and Thanks:
I give full permission to use this mod in other works. I'd like some kind of note of where it came from, but even that isn't required. Use the mod however you want with my blessing.

Thanks to phoenix0113 for his very enjoyable mod Simple Realism which inspired this tweak, I was playing his mod and thought "What if it was easier to arm than disarm?". Thanks to Bethesda for making such a great game that I can't stop coming back to.
