This can 100% be used with ttw, it just requires some tweaking in the .txt file. open the fine and change each mod index number (you can see what that is in vortex/NMM) to that of anchorage
For example: my mod index number for anchorage was 07
Hi, I tried using this mod but I found that it simply doesn't work. When I type the code i get an error like what has been commented before when it says that it can't be opened or something to that effect. Does anyone have a solution to make this work? Also I noticed that it prevents any items from being dropped.
If one is able to go into console mode to activate a batch file then one could be skilled enough to use setstage commands instead. This mod prob exists because the one notable niggle with using setstage commands is you would need to find out the number that your game allots to the DLC (which may be different to the official DLC release number), and you'd need to find the stage numbers. The latter is easy as they're on the wiki here. For the DLC number you can fairly easily open console and right click on say the guard outside the lift taking you down (or any other npc or item/object added by the DLC - in fact do a couple anyway as a doublecheck) and then note the first two digits of that number. Then type the following line, noting where I twice used a single space: setstage xx0014f6 50 ...and replacing the xx with the actual number you discovered your game allots to the DLC. The 0014f6 is the individual quest number. The last number, 50, is a stage number seen in the ones from the wiki. You can use another number for other stages, and use this whole process on other quests too - just look up their quest IDs & stage numbers on their wiki page. The system is based on the gamebryo engines so'll work for FO3, TTW, FNV & FO4 (maybe Starfailed, and prob Oblivion & Skyrim etc), in any other quests too.
It would also work on mod-added quests except for them they most likely won't have a wiki page to find out what quest ID and stage numbers the mod uses, which unless stated on the mod's page/info or in comments would require opening the mod in FO3edit.
Hope that's right and hope it helps folks. Cheers.
Hi, thank you so much! I was able to move past all of it, I just had to do it before entering the simulation. Again thank you for helping me with this, you are amazing!
Glad it helped! Just relieved I got the info right - I've not played FO3 properly for a couple of years but just track & check out mods. I should add an image-info page on it. I've got two others - Getting SSEedit working for GOG edition, and How to create spoiler tabs.
Thanks. This DLC, and Zeta are the 2 pieces of content I don't like at all about Fallout 3. However, I did have to manually remove the suit from my inventory through console commands. But honestly? That is peanuts compared to trying to put up with its poorly thought out design.
Cheers, no worries (aplogies for the belated reply btw)! I don't recall having an issue with the suit (or even if I thought about it tbh). Do you recall the command you used? Was it something like this?
player.removeitem xx00BB28 or player.removeitem xx00BB28 1 ???
P.S. I should cobbled together a 'Mothership Zeta' skip too. Poop...
For anyone with this unremovable neural suit, that item code seems to be the wrong one. I found a site with item codes, it listed 00A6C0, and that did the trick for me. To be clear I entered:
player.removeitem 0100A6C0 1
Finally rid of the Neural suit. Now this mod is really worth it.
Simply fantastic mod, works like a charm I disliked having to do Op Anchorage over and over again to the point I would just outright skip it,this makes it pain free.
My apologies. I've not logged on in a while. But to answer your question, I'm not sure. I've not actually used TTW before. I imagine the principle would still be the same though. Experiment, let me know, maybe we can troubleshoot it and I'll give you credit. Cheers!
I'm playing Fallout 3 GOTY and I followed your steps exactly, but why can't i remove the Neural Interface Suit from my inventory it's still questflagged, what you get at the start before you go in the simulator? Shouldn't the Neural Interface Suit dissapear from my inventory when you get the no questflagged one?
When I try to run the bat file within the console, it simply doesn't work. It says that neither the .txt or the file can be opened.
I have tried it with both the unzipped file drag+dropped into vortex mod manager, as well as with it drag+dropped to my fallout 3 directory in documents>my games>fallout3
g'day! Aplogies for the belated reply. I havn't looked at this in a while. However, to answer your question, I have no bloody idea... It should be as simple as dropping the .txt file into the F3 directory and running the command but if that's not working, I dunno what to suggest. I can't test it either because I don't have the game installed. Sorry I can't be of any help.
Nothing is downloaded as far as I can see :) Edit: My wrong. I simply forgot to confirm I have Operation Anchorage installed. Looking forward to this - A quest that has annoyed me for years. Thank you.
No worries! Yeah, I hate it. Just be sure to follow the steps exactly (I tried different ways to eliminate and reduce the amount of steps, but it broke the quest. This was the best I could do and it works just fine). You should receive the outcast distress signal once you leave the vault. Please let me know how it worked for you!
you could also try "tmm 1" (without quotations) in the console to reveal all map markers and fast travel directly to Outcast Outpost and proceed with the steps.
OA wouldn't load for me for... time :( I have to investigate and will be back when I find the culprit. This is not your mod, I can guarantee you that much:)
OK, no sweat. Let me know when you get the DLC working and tell me what your load order is. The Anchorage.esm should be just below the Fallout3.esm (that's what it is for me). I dunno if the load order is different for other people though. If it is, I will have to adjust the script.
It has always been loaded in that position for my part too. Thanks for caring. I will also contact GOG who I bought the copy from if they have similar experiences.
All good! :) If you haven't already, open up the Fallout 3 launcher in your games directory and click on data files. Make sure Anchorage.esm and any other DLC are checked, exit, and launch through your mod manager. I don't see why they would be unchecked, but just in case...

Edit: went ahead and loaded up such a page before I forgot all the details: How to advance quests using the PC console mode.

Change xx to correspond with your load order (mine was 01).
