Good idea. The hitherto lack of any sort of interactivity or animation on the many public telephones distributed throughout the Wasteland has always annoyed me. Perhaps you or someone could also add some sort of apologetic "this service is temporarily unavailable" audio track when trying to use one of the booths. It'd still take your caps though, like the parking meters do.
A possible idea for a quest is that maybe one of the booths eventually connects you to somebody, or at least seems to, which then starts a new adventure. As soon as I saw your mod I started thinking about Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles stories that utilise functioning phones in an otherwise apparently abandoned network to tell ironic and disturbing stories. To my mind there can never be enough Ray Bradbury influences in Fallout games.
Unfortunately the incompatibility between this and Streetlights is currently a no-no for me. I can't imagine wandering the Wasteland without those ghostly flickering lights, although nobody has yet satisfactorily explained to me where the power comes from.
Are there any plans for a Fallout 3 Street Lights patch?
I only ask because it's a very popular mod and I'm sure many folks (me included) can't imagine getting rid of it but would still love to use this mod with it!
The phone poles used by Fallout Street Lights has already an animation. I dont think is posible to mix them in one. One animation will override the other.
