Thank man, I just used this to get out. I didn't even have a mouse cursor but luckily the arrow keys worked still.

If anyone is having trouble actually adding the .bat to the start menu (in windows 10), go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and then put the killf03.bat file in there manually.

    Thanks again!

No problem. I've used your .bat over a hundred times since making this post. Why do you make me work so hard, Bethesda?

Yeah! This actually sounds rather useful! But in all honesty this should not be needed in the first place, the problem is that my recent playthrew of the game was kind of a mess! I don't know what I actually did wrong, or that it was even my fault! The game kept crashing on me on and on, sometimes between 20 minute intervals other times it was just impossible. And I had very little mods installed! Granted some of said mods were massive, like the Fallout Wanderers Edition. However that was pretty much it, no graphic overhauls, no heavy script mods, nothing. And it just kept crashing. Hell I've even followed a couple of precautions like not installing mods right away until leaving the vault and waiting a couple of game hours, which was in my case 2 actual hours! Then editing a few things in the ini files for good measure, of course all following guides on the internet that some people who seemed to know what they were doing posted. Still in one playthrew everything ran fine, until the near end of the game where it kept crashing like crap, and breaking quest and corrupting save files, and the second one was a crash fest from the very beginning.
And honestly I think it's Windows 10, it just has to be. I clearly remember this game as being much more stable than this in the previous versions....granted I've only tried it on Windows 7....might have tried it on Windows Xp now that I think about it!

Don't tell me, I am replaying FO3 and it's a nightmare... Not because of deathclaws but because of CTDs lol!

Pretty much yeah! It's like the CTDs wanted to be my friends!
I mean the game constantly crashes, I seem to remeber it crashing once without a single mod installed! I mean this can't be justified by anything that I may or may not have done wrong.
A lot of times the game eould crash so hard, it would crash my Windows 10. I had to resort to playing it in windows mod!

And I though it's only I who has this things. My FO3 crashes like every 10-20 minutes. I thought that it's becaouse of my 10-old laptop can't handle all the mods I instaled or not enough RAM I have, only 6Gb. And I have a many high res textures instaled. I actually wanted to write the bat file by myself and was very surprised when sow someone uploaded it here. Usually it crashes in the wasteland, much more rare in any dungeons.

It's not about the Ram or lack there of! The only graphic changing mod I've had installed in the game was "Clarity"! A simple as can be mod that just removes that ugly as hell green filter that covers everything for no reason! Other than that.....nothing, and I mean nothing! Graphics to me only matter when they are displaying some nice guns or some nice boobs....in that order! I don't give a flying f*** about a re-texture of a damn Tire iron!
Believe it or not guns and boobs are usually not that demanding to the performance. It's usually graphic overhaul mods that you need to be in the lookout for!
What actually is demanding to the performance is the monkey coding that went on in this game and Windows 10 respectively!
And let me make this crystal clear, this game does not work on Windows 10. It will work SOMETIMES, that is the most you can hope for. Best case scenario actually.

So are you saying that the only way to play the game is to create a virtual winXP and instal the game there?

Windows 7 can handle it just fine! However If you have New Vegas you can actually use the mod Tales of the Two Wastelands and play the game via the New Vegas engine, which seems to handle Win10 far better than Fo3! I personally have not tried it yet, but I do intend to do so at some point in the future after my soured mood passes XD
