This is great... only one problem... why is it not already in the unofficial fallout 3 patch yet! Feel like this is just a TINY bit important lol. anyway good job m8.
Anyone able/willing to give a short description on how to install this?Just encountered this (I left the complex before even doing the simulation and cannot return). Can enter but not start/exit the elevator, this is new and I'm basically a dummy with this sort of stuff. Anything would be greatly appreciated
Unzip the file you downloaded. In it you'll find a .esp file, copy and paste it into the data folder in your fallout 3 directory (under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty) if you can't find your game there, right click the game at steam and open properties, in the local files tab you'll see the 'browse local files' option. You can identify the data folder by checking its contents. There should be a bunch of dlcs in there with .bsa extension.
Finally at the game launcher, check the 'Anchorage Elevator Fix.esp option under Data Files. There you go, easy peezy.
I couldn't beleive that the unofficial patch that I have been using never had come around to this or completely had an oversight on that glitch. Thank you for this fix. This works as intended and I will eendorse this.
dude you are the MVP. this fixed my issue easily. i carted off a lot of goods before speaking with the defender, went to megaton to sells some loot, went back to start the mission, but i'd be trapped in the elevator once i pressed the button, or the floor. THANK!!
If you refer to DLC02ElevAboveDoorREF which runs the script DLC02ElevDoorSCRIPT, yes. I didn't corrected it because it's more likely to push the so-called switch than the hidden one. If you accidentally pushed that button, you'll be sent inside, the going-down animation won't trigger, but if you push the inside button, the going-up animation will run and you'll be sent outside. Then, you could push the correct switch to get inside the base. If you are outside the base once more and you push the hidden button again, you'll be correctly sent inside the base. Gosh, that blasted button pulled even more white hairs. If you think that the hidden switch should be corrected too, let me know. I'll be happy to provide.
