Maybe its my modlist but sometimes after loading a save an Enclave trooper spawns or moves somewhere close to me. First time happened during Trouble on the Homefront, who after saying "You're tresspasing" shot Amata and later found dead Trooper at Little Lamplight dinner. Also, said troopers respawn at various outposts without PO equiped, but have it in their inventory.

I was always wondering, WHO are those announcements for? I mean, the Enclave considers everyone else mutated by radiation, no?

The Enclave take pride in their genetic purity, but only Eden wanted to kill basically everyone. Colonel Autumn felt Eden's methods were too extreme. Autumn preferred to use the purifier as leverage to ensure popular support in the Capital Wasteland, that's why he kept Eden's self-destruct codes as a last resort. The soldiers in Raven Rock sided with Autumn, not Eden, when ordered to attack the Player Character.

There is no lore reason for the Enclave to attack neutrals on sight; it's completely illogical. Even if we assume that Eden secretly ordered Enclave troops to attack anything and everyone, (not at all smart for a supercomputer given the Enclave's low manpower,) Autumn clearly stated in the radio broadcasts that neutrals would be targeted only if they interfere, and we've already established the troops answer first to him.

I like to think of this mod as a bug fix.

You have a good point, Dauntless07, but Enclave Personnel "officialy" side with Autumn during Raven Rock, not after your escape from the Purifier. In fact, attack everyone can be considered one of the extreme methods of President Eden. Yeah, there is no lore/logical reason for that, but at the same time nothing denies it.

Then why bother with the radio broadcasts at all? It's implied Eden is trying to earn the trust of Wastelanders, but he orders his troops to attack them on sight anyway? Again, not very smart for a ZAX supercomputer; pointless. Eden is an amalgam of Presidents up to Richardson, so that's where his stance on Mutants comes from, but I don't see him openly attacking neutrals based on his dialogue. He specifically calls for ghouls and Super Mutants to be purged, but is more sympathetic to innocent Wastelanders, calling their eventual deaths a sacrifice that must be made for the greater good. To sacrifice something implies it has value, so we know he regrets the perceived necessity of this action, as did Richardson. The motivation just isn't there.

I just want to add that Eden goes behind Autumn's back and conducts genetic compliance tests to Wastelanders. Genetic-compliance offenders are burned alive. There are several Enclave encampments and terminals which tell about this specifically.

Enclave's behavior is erratic and unpredictable because of it's leaders disagreeing with each other. Autumn specifically states that he doesn't trust Eden anymore, he has distanced himself from the former President.

Eden has been involved in FEV's research without Autumn's knowledge, all along, and he's been ordering Enclave scientists to conduct these inhumane tests.

Enclave in Fallout 3 are not just some random two-dimensional bad guys, there's a lot of depth to it.

Honestly, this seems a plot hole, and the Enclave is clearly designed to be a faction you shoot and cannot join.

There's a science speech check when you talk to Eden, and he admits that there's "internal logic error" in his process.

It's entirely illogical as for why they'd shoot vault dwellers, too. Bethesda really dropped the ball on their behavior, especially since vault dwellers by definition are the "pure genetic stock" the Enclave is looking for. I can sort of understand average wastelanders - since they consider non-vault dwellers to be mutants - but what's the damn point of broadcasting to everyone if you just plan to kill off the humans regardless?

I hate how Bethesda made them cartoonishly evil.

Great Mod If you could add some more dialogue to the soldiers that would be nice. I've always wondered why the hell they bother putting out all of these broadcast if they're just gonna shoot civilians on sight

If I could make a suggestion: Broken Steel has two Enclave voice lines which I think could be applied here. One goes "We don't want any trouble" and the other "I've got nothing to say to Wastelander scum." I feel like those could be applied to Enclave soldiers at their camps.

This mod doesn't just give the Enclave neutrality, but Ive noticed differences to their patrols as well.

Female Enclave power armored troops in encampments for one, they now spawn in addition to the regular sentries. And I could've sworn up near that occupied satellite relay I literally followed 2 Enclave troops making their way across the raised highway to another outpost near the abandoned carfort. They followed an eyebot all the way there engaging hostiles along the way. Which, I admit did add more life to them. Whether or not that's vanilla I can't be certain, but I don't remember ever seeing them do this so I suspect you added it.

The fact you were able to add the dialogue you have shows the Enclave wasn't "from the start" meant to be outright hostile to the player. As to why Bethesda scrapped the idea is beyond me, would've been more interesting a story arc to go a Brotherhood or Enclave route.

Exactly....It just doesn't make sense, it should've allow the player have a choice between BOS and Enclave.

This is what the Enclave should have done as under Autumn they don't just kill randomly they are supposed to do tests on Wastlanders and if they comply give them fresh water, but do kill some. "Mission Directive: Establish and enforce Enclave presence among general populace, disposal of genetic non-compliance offenders.

    I. Establish constituency enforcement point at coordinates 39.138 x -77.070. Monitor civilian movement in area, and debrief superior regarding any events of notable significance or regularity.

II. Distribute purified water rations to civilians willing to submit to genetic compliance screening. Participation in screening is compulsory for all civilians, and use of force is authorized in enforcement.

III. Genetic non-compliance offenders should be detained at checkpoint.

IV. To conserve consumption of Enclave resources, detainees should be disposed of by flame only when withholding facility becomes overcrowded, or detainees become unmanageable, whichever comes first. "

Should be noticed this mod incorporates the "female Enclave troopers" mod, making that mod unneccasary to have

Been using this since the first was available and despite incompatibility with MMM this is a great mod. If you're even slightly proficient at using FO3edit, overwriting MMM's settings with EFO's is one way to make it work but I find running FO3 *without* MMM is a better solution.

Kudos to Genin32 for the mod and to Dauntless07 for re-uploading :)

I was wondering how long do they stay neutral for? Is it throughout the entire game? If I complete "Take It Back!" will they be hostile?

At the logical story beats, the Enclave will still shoot the player on sight, but their neutrality will be restored afterwards. They will not be hostile after completing "The Waters of Life", and "Take it Back".

Would they attack BoS and Outcast members? It's not a big problem, but we got Paladin Hosson on our tail, after being once in Falls Church, that chase us everywhere.

P.S. Just notice like a freaking ghoul walked through their post near megaton, WTF man?! They should shoot them and super mutants on sight, including Fawks, for sure!

As I wrote, I can't offer support, but I agree with you. If memory serves, I think I saw them still attack roaming Outcasts in my playthrough, and it doesn't affect the story sequences, you still have to fight them with Liberty Prime etc. As for the ghoul sighting, I can't comment since I've only seen them attack aggressive Ferals/Super Mutants on sight. I don't know whether neutral/companion Mutants are treated differently for some reason, the base game is no better in that regard, since the Brotherhood lets you bring Fawkes into the Citadel without incident. You might ask the original author about it, but he won't be able to offer support either I'm afraid.

Well, on the other side, we have holotype on one of enclave posts, where Enclave officer report about engaging with three non feral ghouls, two of them get killed, and when
his weapon jammed, he realized that ghoul not attacking him. So they ask him to go in their trailer and hes agreed. So, may be they shouldn't shoot them on sight, after all...

Anyway, it's really sad, that mod doesn't support anymore. Really good idea, but there a lot of improvements required to make it looks like complete work.
There a good reason for review addition sounds that used in mod, because they took from other game and it cause problem, with translating mod on other languages.
There a few good phrases in vanilla game, that might be used. Pretty stupid, that enclave solders keep saying "get away from me" when you trying to interact with them.
I mean, if they really don't want to wasteland people being close - they should open fire or at least make a threat before them come too close, to prevent trespassing.
I think some of their post, that located on roads, should stop player and open short dialog - about who he is and where he comes from. Some checking ID's, if you want :)
