About this mod
Jack Harper clothing & weapons from the film Oblivion (2013).
- Permissions and credits
It's come to my attention that both 1.0 versions are missing the rifle scope mask texture making the scope reticle very unsightly.
I've also spotted the projectile setting was pointing to a custom one I never finished so was invisible in game.
Both issues should now be fixed in the new 1.1 versions of the file.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

(1) Short description
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Adds Jack Harper's clothing & weapons from the film Oblivion (2013) complete with Yankees Baseball cap, goggles, rifle, pistol & even the SkeleTool knife.
Some people spotted the rifle in some screenshots & expressed interest so I decided to release them.
They can be found at the top of the Washington Monument. Look for a rifle case & the rest of the gear on the round metal table at the very top of the Monument.
(2) Long description
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I originally made the rifle because I enjoyed the film so much & as a way of expanding my skills.
Once the rifle was done I thought a uniform might be nice, then the baseball cap & got carried away. :)
Some people spotted the rifle in some screenshots & expressed interest so I decided to release them.
I always wanted a baseball cap that could have lettering or a non symmetrical pattern on it, the vanilla uses a mirrored UV so you can't use it for that.
As I learned Blender I've been able to create a custom UV for the baseball cap so that it can now have lettering etc..
The rifle was made before I learned Blender & was constructed using only Nifskope, the most complex thing I ever made with Nifskope.
The SkeleTool & pistol were made with Blender, some of my first produced pieces with that tool.
They can be found at the top of the Washington Monument. Look for a rifle case & the rest of the gear on the round metal table in the observation room at the very top of the Monument.
The Rifle uses .556 ammo, the movie weapon seems like it might be caseless & possibly energy based but I quite like spent casings being ejected from it.
The pistol was clearly an energy weapon of some kind & remains so in this mod.
I've even included a female version for Harper's uniform that's Vika's dress also from the film.
The .esp is fairly basic to avoid causing ripples in the vanilla game, it's mainly intended to let you have a go with the items without having to break out GECK first.
I expect most will want to tailor the damage etc. to their own gameplay & tastes.

(3) Type 3 & Vanilla versions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are Two versions of this mod to choose from, Type 3 & Vanilla.
Only use one version.
Both versions add the same Weapons & Baseball cap the only difference is the female version of the uniform.
"Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Vanilla Version" is meant for the vanilla female body.
"Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Type 3 Version" is meant for the Type 3 female body.
(4) Optional Bolt Animations while aiming
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Optional Bolt Animations while aiming, the bolt used on the Tet rifle is the one from the Chinese Assault rifle & because of it's positioning on that vanilla weapon it's animations don't need to work when the weapon is being aimed.
I've edited the vanilla animations to allow the bolt to animate when aimed.
Since the Tet rifle included in this mod has a scope, you can't see the rifle's bolt when aiming anyway so they are not essential.
However if you wanted to make a version of the rifle that did not use the scope these animation files will be of use to you.
I've made this an optional addition as it will clash with anything else that changes:
Fallout 3/Data/Meshes/Characters/_1stperson/2haattackloop.kf
&
Fallout 3/Data/Meshes/Characters/_male/2haattackloopis.kf
Like animation replacers & as stated they are not strictly needed for the mod as is.
To use "Optional Bolt Animations while aiming" Download manually, right click on the archive & "Open With" Mod manger (FOMM/NMM).
The mod will now open in your mod manager's Package Manager, left click on it & select "Activate" to complete the install.
To uninstall, open your mod manager, open the Package Manager, left click on the mod & select Deactivate.
Manual Uninstall, go to the two locations mentioned above & delete the file listed.

(5) Installing & Uninstalling
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using a Mod Manager:
Download manually, right click on the archive & "Open With" Mod manger (FOMM/NMM).
The mod will now open in your mod manager's Package Manager, left click on it & select "Activate" to complete the install.
Don't forget to take care of archive invalidation, the version built into mod managers often needs to be turned off & then back on again AFTER adding a new mod.
To uninstall, open your mod manager, open the Package Manager, left click on the mod & select Deactivate.
Manual Install
Download manually, unpack the archive, drag the extracted folder & drop it into your Fallout 3 folder (not into the Data folder as the package is already named Data). Say yes when asked to overwrite.
Go to your Data Files & tick:
Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Vanilla Version.esp
Or
Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Type 3 Version
Depending on which version you chose.
Don't forget to take care of archive invalidation.
Manual Uninstall:
Go to your Data Files, untick:
Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Vanilla Version.esp
Or
Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Type 3 Version
Go to your:
Fallout 3/Data
Delete this file:
Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Vanilla Version.esp
Or
Jack Harper Oblivion Gear Type 3 Version
Go to your:
Fallout 3/Data/Meshes
Delete this folder:
OblivionJackHarper
Go to your:
Fallout 3/Data/Textures
Delete this folder:
Point Lookout Expansion
Yes I know it says Point Lookout, it's a hold over from the original mod I was working on that's spiraled into many other things. :)
Go to your:
Fallout 3/Data/Sound/fx
Delete this folder:
OblivionJackHarper
The mod is now uninstalled & removed.
(6) Conflicts & Issues
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Both versions - The items are placed in the Washington Monument so if you have a mod making changes to that area there could be possible conflicts.
Issues, the animation for holding the assault rifle that Harper's rifle is using clips the stock into the body, particularly on females. This happens even with vanilla rifles & is unavoidable.
While the rifle could be repositioned further from the body that would mean the trigger & grip would be way off & look stranger than stock clipping.

(7) QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q: You originally said March, where have you been?
A: I'm sorry, A loved one fell ill & I've been by their side in hospital 24/7 so I've been absent from the Nexus for the first time in years.
Because this was promised & already done, apart from packaging & writing the description, I've been able to put it together relatively painlessly.
Q: The Tet Rifle uses .556 rounds instead of some kind of energy, why?
A: I like cases being ejected is the simple answer though I was also unsure of what other ammo to use. Possibly caseless or energy.
Q: Why the top of the Washington Monument?
A: I struggled to think of a relevant location & also one that's not too often used by other mods to avoid clashing.
Q: Why Vika's dress & not a female version of Jack's armor?
A: I thought Vika's dress would be fun & tie into the film better. As I improve with Blender I may make a female version of Jack's outfit some day.
Q: Are you an effective team?
A: Sally... ?
Special thanks to CLW, without whom I'd not exist & who's passing has left me so deeply saddened that there are no words to adequately describe it.
From the Earth we come, to the Earth we return, to live again as a part of something new.
