Description

Now with high res textures, and custom 3~9x56 styled scope! And equipment pack!

In my pursuit for better high powered sniper rifles for Fallout 3 I've made a bolt action Anti-Material Rifle. The weapon itself has a very high damages value. I've tweaked the damage output, so that if you're in sneak mode, and are fully perked, you can just about one hit anything. - Those tests are made with FWE there adds more weapon damage. I haven't tried it to see how it fit without that, so you have to see for yourself, (although I think it's pretty much the same). NOTE: That if you think the weapon is too overpowered, I've also added a second version, there's based on a more moderate damage output. The weapon uses .50 caliber BMG ammo that you can get from vendors after retrieving the weapon. The ammo for the weapon is very rare. So choose your shots wisely.

Where can you get the weapon? - The same place as my Bozar mod. I'll gladly give the hint for the location again: How else would a stubborn old man could protect his over-mined town from super mutant overlords, and deathclaws? ; )

Compatibility versions

I've also made compatibility patches for both the high -and low damage version, if you want to use this mod, with my Bozar mod. - It's basically because the ammo type for both weapons are the same, so use this if you don't want two exact copies of the .50 cal ammo. : ) The compatibility patches are complete standalone, - you don't need the other files from this mod to get them to work. ONLY the High -or low damage version of the Bozar mod, if you want ammo with your 50 cal rifle!

My Bozar 50 Caliber Anti-Material Rifle mod.

Talon Company Raiders and Vendors - TCRV

You can also choose this version, where the weapon is randomly added to Talon Company mercs - (when you get to the higher levels; 14-17 I think), and raiders, - (can't remember when they gets it, but it should also be in the higher levels.) And where there's also a small chance for it to get sold by vendors. I've added for both the high -and low damage version. Although you may consider the low version, 'cause the damages from the high, maybe going to be too much. Even though I've lowered the condition of the weapon in the high version, the Talon Company mercs, and raiders are using. (An atemt to make it less painful to get hit by), it's still giving a hell of a kick. : P (You can still find the weapon at the secret location, I gave a hint to before, in this version, but only in low condition.) This is a complete standalone version, - you don't need the other file(s) to get it to work, and you can't use both, or several at once. (You can use the Compatibility versions freely with all of the Bozar versions)

Big Update!

50 Caliber Bolt Action Anti-Material Rifle - Equipment

This file will not work with the low damage, or the compatibility versions. I'll maybe look into that later. And you have to use it with one of the other main files, and it has to be loaded after them!

I've added:

The Raufoss round is my attempt to bring the .50 MG explosive round from New Vegas to Fallout 3. I just thought it would be fun to use a real life round. And the Raufoss was the closest thing I could find. : P If you use this round you'll pretty much pulverize everything you hit, without even being in sneak mode. And you'll be able to kill several enemies at once, if you hit enemies close to each other, or hit the ground where they are. I've tried to make the ammo as rare and expensive as possible, to counteract the high damage. But it's still pretty overkill. xD

The incendiary round is pretty straightforward. It sets everything you hit on fire. It's also a powerful round, but not as powerful as the Raufoss round. So it's a bit less rare and expensive.

There will be added a menu to your Pip-Boy, that allows you to switch between the different ammo types, the first time the game starts. You can buy the ammo from vendors.

The suppressor makes the weapon a bit less noisy. But NOT completely silent. Because, well, you try to silence a .50 cal Anti-Material Rifle, - it can't be done as effective as a 9mm or another lower caliber round. But it will make it a bit harder for you to get detected by enemies when shooting from a distance. : P - The good thing about this, is there's no damages penalty, so you can still kill things as easy as before... : P You can find the suppressor at the National Guard depot in the armory. Getting there can actually be kind of tricky. So if you need help, use Fallout Wikia to guide you through. It should be at the left end of the room, at the bottom shelf, right, from the table, when you go through the first sealed door. I hope you like the suppressor sound I made for the weapon. It was the best i could come up with in the free sound editing program I found on the internet. xD

When you take the suppressor, you will be able to click on it from the Pip-Boy menu. A menu will appear, allowing you to choose if you want to attach or detach it.

If NMM asks you if you want to upgrade, just say no.

If you want to uninstall this, you HAVE to have the original rifle from the other main files equipped, or in your inventory. This means no suppressor attached, and only standard .50 BMG rounds in the magazine. Else you going to lose your rifle!

Also check out the Fallout New Vegas version, thanks to bernt: AM Rifle Unique

Compatibility

It should be compatible with just about anything.

Bugs

Well, if your using the Raufoss round in VATS, it seems like that the explosion damage disappears. I'll try to fix that bug if I can. (But then again, if you're using that round you pretty much just have to point at your target, and pull the trigger, and it will disappear. xD)

Requirements

You'll also need FOSE so the scripts can run properly in the Equipment version.
