Ever round a corner in a dark subway, see a figure in the distance and take him/her out get in close and find out it's Reilly and your like "S**t!, Now I can't turn in anymore for Geomapping"? Or your hammered drinking too much Barcardi and "accidently" press the fire button and take out Moira Brown and now you can't do any Wasteland Survival Quests? Ever wonder why you can blast away on Doctor Li and she never dies but fart the wrong way near Three Dog and he topples like a domino?
Well I got some good news. This mod makes alot of NPC's unkillable (a.k.a Essential) thus preventing them from dying. Many Main Quest and Important NPC's are Essential in both the main game and DLC (more so in the DLC) these include folks like Doctor Li, Dad, Elder Lyons, etc. as well as Children are always protected.
This mod's intention is to spread this same protection to other NPC's well. These include Caravan's, Watter Beggars, Followers, Quest giving and involving characters and other important NPC's to help prevent accidently breaking quests either by an accident from you or from the NPC getting killed by the environment or hostile enemies.

Installation:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Extract NME_Main.esp (and any plugings of your choosing) to your Fallout 3Data folder. Use FOMM or equivalent to sort your load order. File identifcation is as follows....
This mod has a main compnent and several option components, here is a brief description of each one.
NME_Main.esp - This is the main mod file, this covers the standard Fallout 3 game and must be loaded at all times when using this mod.
DLC Plugins
NME_Anchorage.esp - This is the plugin for the Operation Anchorage DLC.
NME_PtLookout.esp - This is the plugin for the Point Lookout DLC.
NME_Zeta.esp - This is the plugin for the Mothership Zeta DLC.
NME_Pitt.esp - This is the plugin for The Pitt DLC.
NME_Steel.esp - This is the plugin for the Broken Steel DLC.
NME_DLC_Combined.esp - This plugin combines all the DLC plugins above. Use this if you have all the Fallout 3 DLC or Game of the Year Edition. You will not need any of the invdividual DLC plugins if you use this one.
Optional Plugins
NME_Slavers_Plugin.esp - Use this if you want to protect the Slavers at Lincoln Memorial if you decide to side with them during the Head of State quest.
NME_Temple_Plugin.esp - Use this if you want to protect the Temple of the Union during the Head of State quest.
NME_Warrington_plugin.esp - Use this if you want to protect the Warrington Station ghouls during the Tenpenny Tower quest.
NME_Tenpenny_plugin.esp - Use this is you want to protect Tenpenny Tower during the Tenpenny Tower quest.

Compatability/Bugs:

This mod should be compatible with pretty much anything. Of course any mod that modifies Fallout 3's (or DLC) NPC's will overwrite the changes of this mod if loaded after NME so best course of action would be to PUT THIS AS LOW IN YOUR LOAD ORDER AS POSSIBLE to help prevent any issues.
No bugs as far as I can tell.

Q: Why isn't x/y/z/ protected?
A: Only NPC's that are important to the games quest lines and other important NPC's are protected.
Q: NPC x is part of a quest but not added in your mod?
A: Some NPC's are either protected always (usually main story line NPC's) or they are protected up to the completion of certain quests and don't require any additional protection. Many of the DLC's NPC's are protected by default as well. I also did not add NPC's that are killed as part of completing the quest/task.
Q: Will you add x to the protected list?
A: Go ahead and post your request in the forum thread but I must warn you odds are slim they will get added. Reason is because I went through the complete NPC list with a fine tooth comb so there's not many (if any) NPC's that are worthy of protection.
Q: You protected x and I want to beat on them, will you remove them from the mod?
A: Nope, if you must deactivate the mod, beat the NPC and re-activate the mod.
Q: Why did you make this mod?
A: There are mods that do this but not in ESP fashion and not as extensive as this. They're great mods but I wanted to make something like this more thorough.
