About this mod

You can now fortify several kinds of shelters to use as camping spots, using scrap metal. You may later tear down the fortifications using a wrench, and receive some scrap metal back. This mod is intended to be used with any mod that adds camping gear, such as FWE.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

First off, I'd like to say this mod does not require anything but Fallout 3.esm. It was built with FWE (or any realism mod for that matter) in mind, but it is not required.

There is a very serious consideration you must make, now. The houses were not hand placed. I used the Search and Replace function to place the houses, so that they would appear in exactly the same spot as the static houses they replace. This is important for Navmesh issues, and so on.
However, these houses are often filled with rubble, or may be more or less buried than others. It is up to you to make sure your campsire is suitable for fortification. Not doing so could lead to half buried fortifactions, or a functionally useless fortified building filled with rubble. There will be some houses that the fortifications might interfere with handplaced fortifications. I leave the option to your discretion.

DESC

If you use FWE, you most likely use the portable gear. There are plenty of places you can set up camp, but most of them are woefully open and unprotected, and many times I have had to angrily reload simply because something decided me and my shelter would make for good target practice.

Now, you can fortify some structures in the wasteland, to help protect you and your camping area. Bus Shelters (the silver structures with benches in them), some wasteland houses (like you find near Jury Street Metro), and some ruined houses (like those in Springvale) are fortifiable, so long as you have the scrap metal to do it.

Bus shelters cost ten, ruined houses cost fifteen, and wasteland houses require twenty. You need no tools to fortify the house, but you need a wrench to tear it down. This is more of a safety feature than a realism feature, because tearing down your house when you are simply trying to access a bed or your cookware is definitely not a great way to wind down your day.

To build or tear down your structure, you will need to crouch first. Tearing down a structure yields a majority of your scrap back, but not all of it. The bus shelter gives eight back, the ruined houses give twelve back, and the wasteland houses give fifteen.

INSTALL/UNINSTALL

Istallation; drag all files into the data folder, and tick the new esp in FOMM or your manager of choice. It would be better to load this after anything that might change the caps.

Uninstallation; delete the 'ashven' folder from your meshes folder, and delete the Fortify Bus Shelters.esp from your data folder.

OTHER

You can use this mod however you see fit, without having to contact me. I would appreciate a mention in your readme, though, if you use my simple script. The model is made up of several BGS models, and thus subject to the same restrictions all BGS material.
