i know how you trick us, its look like its work but it isnt, it show on chat message that i run fallout 3, but then when i alt tab, it doesnt show that anymore, nice play dude
Alright. This will, probably never get answered but I gotta try. I, after playing both FO3 and NV on console for years finally, in 2020, got a mid to high end laptop (not specialized towards gaming just decent out the box) I got NV first cuz I like it more but wanted to try FO3 as well. I tried to play it. Couldn't cuz it needs Games for Windows Live. Found a way to play it through Steam without needing that. Got FWE, needs FOSE. Was the first thing I installed, BUT Steam won't recognize FOSE. Use Launch FOSE in FOMM. Both ways launch but launching with Steam makes FOSE not work which makes FWE not work. I will always play with controller so if anyone does read this just keep the peasant comments to a minimum. Anyways, launching with FOSE FOMM obviously has FOSE working but I can't use the controller anymore cuz. Found a way to make Steam recognize FOSE. I know it is at least in some capacity because before I used the method I was getting a pop-up from FWE about not having FOSE every five seconds and now I'm not AND I can use the controller BUT I can't open the console even though bAllowConsole= is 1 in all my ini. files ssooo... Anyone got a suggestion?
For those who are using FOSE (= NVSE for New Vegas) :
- Rename your "fose_launcher" for "FalloutLauncher" - Rename your "FalloutLauncher" for "FalloutLauncher-orig.exe" - Enable steam (overhaul steam) - Play F3 GOTY via steam -
I think I have a problem. I did exactly as the video told me to do, although I didn't download the optional file, and yet whenever I type in "GetFOSEVersion", it instead just tells me "GetFOSEVersion" not found. Is there something I messed up?
Wow. can't believe this worked! When not renaming, steam did NOT recognize the game running, but this trick stream DOES recognize it running! Crazy, the script extenders in others games stream recognizes it running. Only fallout 3 had a problem.
I got confused after watching the vid. Why all the work? I always start the game (and Skyrim, FONV, Oblivion too) via the FOSE loader without having it renamed! Really no need to rename the executables. If Steam is not running it will start it automatically (but better to have it running before starting). Steam overlay will work this way, ENBoost starts fine and so does the 4GB flagged Fallout.exe. Btw: the command codes in the dev´s console are NOT case sensitive. Thank you

By 'fose_launcher, I believe OP means 'fose_loader' for those of you unsure.
