This should help break em of a bad habit
I hear all the time "I cannot fast travel to "name your place" I cannot Go into the interior, ect...
Ask em to find a old save from wayback to test, "I only have my quick save or it only goes back a few days ect...
By the end a a 50lvl playthru I have 1000+ hard saves.... no more than 100 in save folder, as it gets full must move em out the a holding folder the gameengine cannot find or it will... and use the data in those saves to really screw up your running busted savegame.

    This should help
    thanks.

Is there any problem if the saves folder has many files in it? I haven't heard of any issues with that.

Thanks for the endorsement btw ^___^

Having too many files in the Save folder can cause the Save/Load menu to become seriously sluggish and slow to open, as it takes a while to parse all the names.

i made a very simple mod that saves on combat and i never have corrupted saves with that.
with the con_savegame command from FOSE.
i never have to go in a menu, if an enemy attacks me i always have a save from just before i got killed..

try it in a script, you'll like it.

Thanks for the suggestion printerkop, but I'm also using No Combat Saves, not being able to save on combat makes me pay much more attention to those situation, and makes them more meaningful that way, at least for me.

well, actually it saves on a detection event, not really on combat.
but i can understand that you might not want it.
i made the plugin for a friend of mine who always forgot to save and rushed into battles and then he got killed,
result, had to play the last half hour anew again, made him furious.

i myself never die, i'm always on time with stimpacks and med-x, i'm usually totally doped up when i do battle.

Bethesda advises that console commands can potentially break quests, dungeons and saved games by leaving the world in an "invalid state," and that the use of commands may result in saved games becoming incompatible with future patches.

Just more data, above. Quest mods break easy.

Quick saves are saving while data is changing, sleeping doors travel, always to the same slot, it just soon gets fouled up. Never save during battles, or if something bad happens, only when quiet or ready to go in to a important area. requires mental disipline not automation.

It is so old a problem I do not even answer on it anymore.
unless forced, by situation or users attitude.

    Above is old info...
